The first volume of his key animation drawings collection book is now available
50-year-old acclaimed animator/character designer Yoshihiko Umakoshi joined a live-drawing event held at the Machi Asobi event in Tokushima Prefecture on Sunday. It was hosted by Japanese anime magazine Anime Style to promote the first volume of his key animation drawings collection book released in September 2018. Umakoshi is best known as character designer for Ojamajo Doremi, HeartCatch PreCure!, and My Hero Academia.
He drew three characters from the My Hero Academia anime: Izuku "Deku" Midoriya, All Might, and Tsuyu Asui, as well as other characters from his previous works such as Doremi Harukaze from Ojamajo Doremi. Then, the official Twitter for the Academia anime franchise posted the three character illustrations today.

By the way, Umakoshi purchased the latest 23rd volume of the My Hero Academia manga, which was
officially released in Japan on May 2, at a convenience store in Tokushima (with a shaving foam).
