JoJo's Spin-Off Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan Pens in Live-Action TV Adaptation

Three episode mini-series will air on NHK in late December

It's time to stand up and grab your G-pens because JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure spin-off manga series, Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan will be getting a live-action adaptation from Japan's national broadcaster NHK this December over three episodes over three nights starting December 28 on NHK-G. The first visual was released featuring Issey Takahashi (Whisper of the Heart anime film), who will be bringing Rohan to life.

The first episode will adapt the manga chapter Millionaire Village, which has also been adapted into anime for the Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan OVA series. The second episode will adapt the Kushagara short story by Ballad Kitaguni from the first short story collection. The final episode will adapt the manga chapter D.N.A. that was released in Bessatsu Margaret in 2017.

 

Joining Issey Takahashi in the cast is Marie Iitoyo as Rohan's editor Kyoka Izumi, Fuga Shibazaki as butler Ikkyu, Mirai Moriyama as Rohan's associate Jugo Shishi, Kumi Takiuchi as the widow Mai Katahira, and Tomoya Nakamura as Izumi's cameraman Taro Hirai. Directing the mini-series is Kazutaka Watanabe with JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure TV anime screenplay writer Yasuko Kobayashi helming the scripts.

 

The three-episode mini-series premieres on December 28 on NHK-G at 10 PM and continues the following two nights in the same time slot. If you want to see Rohan in animated form, Part 4 of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure TV anime is streaming on Crunchyroll!
