  • Insanely Fantastic Anime
This is a rare case where almost everything is perfect about an anime series. The animation, the themes, the action, and more are all stellar and done VERY well in this anime. The Animation is FLIPPIN' GORGEOUS and all of the characters have their own goals and motivations as to why they want the Holy Grail. The plot-twist and Kiritsugu's backstory are some of the best I've seen in an Anime ...

The entry level into the Fate Franchise
I want to jump into the review, but let me start with the fact that this was my first Fate series anime. I was eyeballing the series for ages and decided to start here. This is what drug me into the franchise. This show is everything to me, so there may be some bias. After stating such, we can begin this spoiler-free review.

Fate Zero is the prequel to the popular Visual novel called Fate ...

  • Excellent. Far beyond my expectations.
Before I watched this anime, I have already watched the 2006 version of Fate/stay night, I have watched Fate/Kaleid, and I have watched Carnival Phantasm. Without spoiling anything, I can say Fate/Zero is much darker themed and more mature than any of them. I'd only heard good things about this series, and for very good reasons. For absolutely any fan of dark anime or the Fate series, this is a ...

  • Do yourself a favor and watch this
Someone recommended this anime to me about a year ago. Finally gave it a watch and I'm very happy that I did.

Plot 8/10: The story is unique and intriguing. The first two episodes are rather slow with the first episode being 41min on it's own. The two first episodes are mainly there to establish characters and their motives. However after the two first episodes this anime picks up the tempo and ...

This is my favorite one out of the whole franchise
This one gives you a pretty good idea on how the holy grail works and the world in fate, generally. I love myself a good antihero and Kiritsugu DELIVERS. I love how all the characters have a good amount of backstory so that you can empathize, etc. Definitely sets a high bar for other action animes.

  • Beautiful Animation, Great Watch
It's hard for my fiance and myself to really get into anime series, but after a friend recommended this one to us, we were sucked right in!

The animation is beautiful, you fall in love with the variety of characters, and I absolutely loved the soundtrack.

  • #6. The Fourth Holy Grail War.
Seven magi call upon seven legendary warriors from all walks of history, to assist them in the merciless conflict of the so called Holy Grail War. In the end, few will remain standing in this battle royal for awesome incomprehensible power.

As a prequel to the original series involving the Fate/Stay Night characters, it is 10 years in the past, setting up the bulk of backstories and ...

  • Holy Grail War Wins.
So I don't know how this was recommended to me but I'm glad it was.

The first episode is longer than the rest at 43mins or so, so don't expect the rest to be that long. There's a lot of motives and stories to each character and participant and some grow on you more than others. I think in terms of plot and character development they did great.

I'd say it's original and I like how all the ...

  • Amazingly Bleak while still Exciting
Imagine your S/O is cheating on you, and you try to win them back without confronting them. And it feels like its working, but they're still doing the dirty with some ho. It's that kind of feeling. Alright, that wasn't a perfect analogy.
Let me try again: the entire show felt like an allegory for hell, in that the paradise and dread were combined so homogeneously that every character who was not ...
