Don't watch it, if you are hungry.
Food Wars!, or Shokugeki no Soma is a Japanese shounen manga series, which was written by Yuuto Tsukuda and illustrated by Shun Saeki. Due to big success, the manga received an anime adaptation by J.C.Staff, which aired between April 3, 2015 and September 25, 2015 and a second season, which began airing on July 2, 2016. The anime tells the story of a boy named Souma Yukihira, who has a dream to ...

    this anime is so good
Everytime I watch this at night, it's a must to get a snack or some food first (though my food is nothing compared to the stuff in food wars). It's very exhilarating whenever there is a shokugeki/food battle going on (involving Soma most of the time) and there IS romance in this, just not as much as regular romance anime since it mainly focuses on cooking.

this also has a 80% chance to ...

Incredible show that everyone should watch
This show is amazing. Great characters, fantastic animation, and super intense. This is my favorite anime. Every episode is filled with food that makes you drool even though it isn't real. A hilarious show that has the suspense of an action series without having to worry if your favorite character is gonna die!

Sometimes an Anime series is more than what you see
If you were to assess this anime purely objectively, you'd more than likely conclude that its bizarre, has a paper thin plot and is completely over the top. However, adding a layer of context to something seemingly mundane is something Anime does extraordinarily well. For instance, in one episode, someone draws parallel between two dishes presented on the show, one is described as an exquisite ...

More intense than most fight themed shows!
Yup, binge watched this one simply because I couldn't stop watching. The competitive spirit of the culinary world is demonstrated to the extreme here. The food battles are very engaging and the descriptive language used is something else, not to mention reactions of the judges. It makes a cooking show waaaaay more fun to watch. Really loved this! Waiting for more episodes to be released before I ...

FOOD?? No, more like art that you can eat!!!
WARNING! Make sure to have eaten or to eat while watching!
Soma is a son of a great chief and only wants to beat his father at a taste testing contest as well as running the family restaurant. Things don't go as planned. With the most stunning visuals I have ever seen in an anime. Like EVER! Somehow ends up in a culinary school, will he make friends and win over his father? Not to mention ...

Food Wars! A show that has everything I love.
I fell in love with 'Food Wars!' immediately. It has everything I adore all wrapped up in a well made package. I watch a lot of Chopped, Master Chef, Cutthroat Kitchen, and the like, so the premise stood out to me right away. The recipes are smart and the animation makes the food look irresistible. Each chef has their own unique flair and the characters are all so well done, I fell in love with ...

    Very addictive!!!!!!
I started watching this show because I saw the commercial on Crunchy roll and thought it looked cool.I saw the first episode and I was hooked! I think an anime lover who likes cooking and/or baking, loves suspense, and is just awesome in general would and should have a lot of fun watching this show.

Gets better exponentially after episode 4
Till that episode it is a bit of establishment work. I felt that first episode was a bit cringe worthy. But the show was an awesome mix of fan service and a cooking competition, full of entertaining characters which are actually visible in the Academic World.
Hope to see more of this.

Almost great, but the seasoning is a tiny bit off...
This is a show about cooking and cooking-inspired orgasms, so if you like food and orgasms and foodgasms, you will like this show. So what else is missing? What else could you possibly want? Motivation. Yes, there are sorts of reasons for why things happen and why characters are the way they are and why we should care about anything, but they're not terribly convincing. If you read the manga, ...
