Wow, if there has ever been a must watch anime this must be it.
Food Wars! blew me away. Really the character development and personalities are unique and each play an important role in the storyline. The pacing is perfect and keeps you engaged. Usually fan service is an instant turn off yet I found myself laughing out loud at these scenes as they were utterly ridiculous and funny.

I never thought an anime like this would ever catch my eye but thankfully I ...

  • One of the Most Original Ideas
This anime has a plot that I've never seen done before. It follows a student who goes to a top culinary school to surpass his fathers level of cooking. It's comedic most of the time, but also has it's share of perversion. As for the soundtrack, it's nothing special. That said, this deserves a 4 out of 5.

  • I wish I could just eat the food right off the screen
Was just looking for something to watch, and stumbled across this, and so happy I did. Despite the over-the-top reactions to eating the food, which always leads to the characters stripping, Food Wars! is both fun to watch, and always keeps you wanting to now what comes next.

But what I love most about this is the artwork. The food looks amazing, and the animation works very well with the ...

    Exquisite, Delicious, for great appetites!
Introducing new culinary concept: Erotic Food. Just as I have read, from the first episode you will be caught by this anime. It's simply exquisite. Shokugeki no Soma have an amazing kind of humor that makes you keep watching episode after episode. The style of drawing will open your appetite, they are so good that it actually looks like food. Animation is pretty amazing, combining good visual and ...

Warning: Contains Light Ecchi, Hardcore Food Porn
My favorite new anime by far. It's funny, original, and the food is gorgeous. It has the Iron Chef style showdowns, the whatever super chef type show that's popular these days style challenges, and a cooking school that's a worthy competitor to the Chinese Cooking Academy run by the the 18 Brass Men of Shaolin (a God of Cookery reference). I hope this show spawns many sequels and/or ripoffs.

    Everything I wanted and more
When I saw that it was going to be in the Spring 2015 line up, I was pumped! I have been a fan of the manga for awhile now. The anime has delivered everything I wanted from the manga. It follows the manga plot very closely, with the same art style too.
Anytime anyone comes over to my house and they haven't seen it, we watch the first ep. I want this anime to go all the way through the manga and ...

    Shokugeki no Souma is execellent.
I love how the anime is following the manga extremely close. Glad it is. It sticks to the story.

I started to watch the anime. I got curious of the manga. I was not disappointed. Manga is great.

The anime is pleasant to watch and fun. I'll enjoy it seasons to come.

    Great adaptation of the Manga!
Honestly, The story and concepts of the anime was great. The characters we're appealing, However the ecchi part of the anime wasn't so great. Everything about the anime is great except for those ecchi parts.

There are so much potential for this anime and the manga.

Good Luck, Author of Food Wars Manga.

Has So Much Potential - But Ultimately Undermines Itself
I feel this should be more of a 2.5 than a 2~but since that wasn't an option--
This anime has a good cast of characters and a good story for the most part. It definitely makes you want to cook something after watching each episode--which for me is huge because I lack both desire and skill to cook. But somehow these recipes--even onigiri soup in green tea broth (which sounds disgusting)--looks ...
