I've watched a pretty decent amount of anime now, but I haven't watched a lot of sports anime. I've seen Haikyu and Ping Pong the Animation and really enjoyed both. So, I want to know some more. I'm not that into basketball, but I think I'll try Kuroko no Basket. I'm a big baseball fan, so maybe some good baseball ones, but I'm down to try anything.

Not "sports" as you would usually define them, but certainly "competition":

Chihayafuru

Hikaru no Go ( https://www.hulu.com/hikaru-no-go , https://www.viz.com/hikaru-no-go , https://view.yahoo.com/show/hikaru-no-go )

Edit: For baseball, I'd suggest Cross Game, but don't think it's streaming anywhere legal right now...

/ace-of-the-diamond is a good baseball series, though many viewers call it "Ace of the Cliffhanger" for regularly cutting off at a vital point in a match.
/baby-steps is an excellent tennis series, taking a complete novice with some interesting talents through different stages of development up to participating in junior competitions.
/eyeshield-21 is a silly American football series with secret identities, blackmail, gun-wielding captains, super powers and occasional breaking of the 4th wall.
/all-out is a Rugby football series inspired by Japan's recent good performance in the Rugby world cup (they didn't get far in the competition but pulled off an amazing win against a former world champion). I've only watched a few episodes so far but other than many of the high school players being drawn like ancient Greek statues, it seems to cover the basics adequately.
/the-knight-in-the-area is an association football (soccer) series. I only managed to watch a few episodes as the key strength of the star player is an illegal move in a regular match. Also the supporting story rests on a massive cliche.

/keijo is a parody of the sports anime genre. It is based on a fake sport where young women try to knock each other off a platform through using only their chest or rear. It is an amusing comedy and an interesting commentary on the real sports shows.

If you aren't that particular about which sport, but just want something good any way: Baby Steps (the sport is tennis).

Sport doesn't matter, so I'll look into all of these. I'll probably start with Ace of Diamond, that got a couple nods, and I'll work my way on from there.

This is great. Thanks everyone!
