If I had to pick a type, I would probably go with side characters who wear glasses. I can enjoy pretty much any personality type as soon as you throw some glasses on it.

Idk if you play video games or not, but I bet you would love Futaba Sakura from Persona 5!

I am way too into yandere chicks. It's not healthy. Sonozaki Shion is teh hotness.

Crazy ones are the best. Mainly yanderes, but not all of them. Yangires are good too usually. Yuno Gasai, Kurumi Tokisaki, Hana Midorikawa, Anna Nishikinomiya, Shion Sonozaki, Esdeath, they're all great.

I actually haven't seen too many shows with yandere girls in them. The one girl that comes to mind for me is Asakura Ryoko from Haruhi shows. Got any other recommendations?

So type.. I guess I like somewhat sadistic know-it-alls with a soft spot? Meh. I like plenty of characters that fall outside that description and I like lots of different characters for different reasons. Some characters I relate to, others I admire, others I would want to hang out with, some I really think are cool but wouldn't want to cross paths with at all.

I'm the same way. One of my all time favorite characters is Mako from Kill la Kill. She is the exact opposite from the dere type I usually go for! Hikari is up there for me too! She is just so cute! You can't help but love her!

Saber from Fate/Stay Night was a great character IMO. She didn't fawn all over Shirou. She wasn't a tsundere. She had a good personality and was kind of cute when she didn't understand something. She certainly wasn't a damsel in distress (Shirou was more of that actually). I wouldn't characterize Saber as any of the typical anime female archetypes.

Man, I've been meaning to get started on the Fate series for ever, but it kinda seams like a daunting task. I've heard nothing but good things about it from my friends though!

Also I have to say that one of your favorites, Rei Ayanami, was my first favorite anime character EEEEEVER!! She held my little heart in thrall ~ and still does

She is an amazing character. I can't wait to see how things happens in 3.0 + 1.0! If it ever comes out! She was one of my first favorites too. Probably behind Haruko and Ninamori from FLCL or Riza Hawkeye from FMA!

Gentle, very gentle. But is stern and strong willed when she needs to be.
She helps everyone and is happy when others are happy. She cooks and cleans not becuase it's expected, but because she likes it (there's something in that that I appreciate.)

The first girl that comes to mind of this type would be Vignette from Gabriel Dropout. She's such a sweetheart even though she is a demon!

1. Diane from Seven Deadly Sins

Apparently I need to see Seven Deadly Sins. Haha.

In general, the ones who are smart, tough, capable, give as well as they get and don't have "needs to be rescued" as their general state of being.

For example - and this is awkward to say since she's the same age as my child is now - but I'll be carrying a torch for Kurugaya Yuiko in Little Busters for the rest of my life.

Levi from Trinity Seven. Ninjitsu is nice, but her dry humor and back-and-forth with everyone, especially the MC, is probably my favorite thing about that series.

Absolutely nothing against Nagisa, but my girl in Clannad is Kyou. Love her personality.

Ryu Lion from Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? I know Aiz is everyone's favorite, but not mine.

Anyway, for example.

I always thought that Hestia was the most popular. Ryu is a great character. I love her backstory. I wish they showed more of her in the anime. I'm actually about to order the light novels. Idk if she has a larger role in them or not, but I heard the anime skips a lot of stuff.

When I heard the second season would focus on the side characters I hoped she would get some screen time, so disappointing she didn't.

Sword Oratoria is actually its own light novel series, so I'm not exactly sure if it was supposed to be a second season or just it's own thing. I hope the series actually gets a real second season though!

Akane Hiyama from Renai Boukun/Love Tyrant is another good yandere who would easily look like a normal girlfriend if she wasn't competing with a cupid who constantly brings out her crazy side. Ako Tamaki from Netoge is more tame for an overly attached girlfriend. She normally doesn't lash out and she has no trouble interacting with her friends but she can get jealous easily and is a bit nuts. She thinks of the guy she "married" in a game as her real husband even before meeting him and she doesn't understand why an in-game marriage is different from real life.

Then there's Kotonoha Katsura from the infamous School Days, which I'm sure you must've at least heard of. The story itself is trash and the protagonist is a huge POS but if you're looking for crazy girls (and enjoy seeing an idiot ruin his own life), School Days is a good place to look.

There is no second season. Sword Oratoria is an Aiz spin-off... or at least that's what it was supposed to be. The anime for some strange reason cut Aiz out of much of it and made the annoying elf the secondary protagonist.

Maybe I'll look into. But Gabriel Drop-out as a whole doesn't appeal as much to me. Though neither are the things I mentioned, so who knows, maybe I'd love it.

And Vignette isn't the main character, so probably don't see her as much.

Actually, she kinda a main character. Even thought Gabriel is supposed to be the main character, I think you see Vignette just as much, if not more! I ended up loving the show way more than I thought I would. So you never know, you might like it!

Girls who are equally as super cute as they are super badass.

My favorite examples include:

Illya from Fate.

And Wendy from Fairy Tail.

Easy....Shizuka Hiratsuka. The only anime character I'd want a relationship with if she were real.

I do think she is the best character in the character in the show! I heard you can date her in the game that they made!

I've never seen the game, but only heard about it. I guess I could elaborate more and say that I tend to like older characters better since I'm not into Lolis, Rory Mercury being the exception to the rule, high school girls, etc. Despite her flaws, I find Shizuka sassy, funny, wise and very pretty. I'm just glad she's not real or I'd be in a lot of trouble. But obviously I do agree she's the best in the show since without her there is NO SHOW.

I didn't realize the name of this thread was "Anime girls you are attracted to?" And not "Favorite type of anime girl?"...

It's okay if you like Lolis. But Shizuka Hiratsuka is the one I really like. But I did elaborate to said I like the older characters more. Not the ancient females mind, but the ones closer to my age.

I just finished Chrono Crusade, and wanted to come back here to add Rosette Christopher to my list. She is exceptional.
