$1000 for a phone ??? at least phablets are making a come back My nexus 6 doesn't feel as big anymore with these 6.2-6.23 phablets coming out.

If you are on a budget, i would give One Plus phones a try

a 32gb iPhone 7 is probably enough for most casual users, and you can get one for $350 (bestbuy is having a promo right now)

as for iPhone X...
$999 and you only get 64gb of storage...still plenty for most, but quite low for this price.

Support for display of multiple languages and characters simultaneously

iPhone can now show different characters at the same time! what a break through!

Looks like another minimal upgrade to actual functionality and features with an increase in size (screen, data) to give the illusion of the mythical "upgrade" only to justify the only real upgrade in this example....

THE BILL

it's pointless ...the iphone 6s plus will forever be the best. I regret getting the 7 plus for the fact there's no headphone jack. I don't plan on buying the iphone 8 plus or the X. I'll never say never tho because I'm scum.

My girlfriend had skipped the iPhone 7 Plus and she wants the iPhone X.
I figure since she saved me the cost of a phone last year, the additional cost of the X doesn't bother me.
I have a Samsung Note 8 and that was around $1000 after taxes and getting a new case, so I am not one to talk about buying expensive phones.

Welcome iPhone X users to stuff that Android has had for years..
Not that I really care about the previous sentence, I'm more curious on how it looks like taken apart (Go JerryRigEverything go!), and how durable it is (Go TechRax go!)

On topic, I'm curious why they chose to go nearly bezel-less. What's the point of extending the screen but leaving that sensors in the middle there, in the middle of the screen. Aside from being able to pack a bigger screen without making the actual phone bigger, the best that extra area can do is show a few notifications, then be sort of useless for anything else. The design reminds me of the Essential Phone. Expands to be nearly bezel-less, but then adds a camera in the middle of it. While sure there are some apps that can use it to show a bit more content or place the notifications there, there's really not much else you can do with that kind of space. Most apps don't support it yet, so it just shows up as a blank part of screen.

unless i'm missing something, iPhone X have a "hybrid IR filter"...which i'm guessing makes unlocking through facial recognition more secure than the iris scanner for the Galaxy S8. unlike the Galaxy, the iPhone X should be able to not only recognize the face, but also be able to read the thermal image - which means it should be impossible to unlock the phone with a simple photo of someone's eyes. the dual lens means the iphone X is also able to model the face in 3D, which should make it harder to fool the system.

inb4 some unnamed hackers still manage to hack the system anyways.

edit:
face id according to Apple:

>flood illuminator, ir camera, dot projecto, light and proximity sensor, which models the face in 3d, even in low light conditions
there was a fail in demo, but software updates should fix things.

It looks nice but I don't need a new phone right now.

Typical consumer bullshit. Apple is the definition of overpriced and over hyped garbage. They were never a good company and they don't deserve to be praised

Gee this $1000 phone has BRAND NEW FEATURES! Like wireless charging.. oh wait my 3 year old Android phone had that.. and was only $400 brand new.

Apple hasn't innovated in close to a decade, they just copy other products on the market and spin it as new. By the way, everyone I know with an apple "phone" can't even use it as a phone because the call quality sucks lol
