(Minus the holidays) do you travel back home throughout the school year at all?

My drive to college is very long so I don't go home too often, but what about everyone else?

Opinions on whether you should go home or not?

Do you feel more inclined not to visit home?

Nope went to a college somewhat close to home so i commuted there and back daily.

Opinions on that differ from person to person. Hows your family life? Will you enjoy your time better at home or at your "new home". Will traveling back impose a burden upon you ?

These are all questions nobody can answer but yourself.

Graduated years ago, obviously, but I used to drive home most weekends to spend time with my dog. The cost of gas was mostly offset by not having to pay out the nose to do my laundry.

I'd usually go hiking with her or something. She was a large, active dog, and didn't adjust very well to being left home with just my elderly mother for company.

Whether you should really depends on the school and your personal circumstances. My campus was often pretty dead on the weekends, so staying generally meant boredom and poor or no food (cafeteria hours were drastically cut back on weekends). I'd sometimes stay when there was actually something going on or I was working on a project and needed access to the shops / labs.

I averaged probably at every other weekend at parents place. They didn't live that far away, and train fare isn't/wasn't that much for a student.
