Get the picture?

Let me clarify. Berkeley by and large has peaceful protests. You're allowing the isolated instances that have occurred within the last couple of months as a reaction to partisanship to dictate your ideas about the aggregate. Your image makes a statement about Berkeley being anti-free speech. Berkeley as an institution allows people to speak and the people in majority don't accept that images illusions.

So what you have is literally wrong in almost every way you look at it. It's propaganda and your no better then the Antifa mouth breathers by posting that around.

Look at these peaceful protestors

This is some 1984 tier shit right here. "War is peace" etc. It doesn't matter that there was once peaceful protests there. The fact is that Berkeley kowtows to alt left terrorists and goes out of their way to block public speakers.
For an institution that supposedly allows people to speak, they sure have fought tooth and nail to cancel events they are constitutionally obligated to host and have done so several times. They're being sued for canceling Coulter's speech iirc.
The administration is most definitely anti free speech, judging from their actions, which is all that matters.

Well, it sure is a good thing that the "strictest level of the law" regarding speech in the US is.... nothing. Literally nothing. So go ahead and strictly enforce those laws that don't prohibit speech.

What a teenage edgelord thing to say.

You misunderstood what I meant. I meant they should be punished at the highest level one could get, period. Not the highest level someone could get for a speech crime. Capital punishment for daring to speak ones mind outside the allowed time period.

I fully understood what you meant.

I was responding that what you said is in direct opposition to the legal code, to the US constitution, and to the very concept of western liberal democracy.

Name calling and personal attacks huh? What a positively fascinating and brilliant way to open a counter argument. I will end this by saying that my original post was an exaggeration based jest on how I feel the U.S has been taking things way to far in the means of wanting to celebrate every little thing in existence. We have enough holidays that celebrate freedom. There are no need to make more to celebrate the individual freedoms that we as citizens possess. I figured if it were the opposite way around and we had nothing, then sure let us celebrate the one time where we can speak our minds. Thank you for taking the time to explain to me that every time I make a joke, be it subtle or not so I must explain what it is in big capital letters. Oh and it is still a joke, good or bad does not take away what it is.

On a final note I do apologize for having a young face. Genetics can be a cruel thing and rather than spending the effort to change things in a way that might not work out in my favour I decided to have fun and roll with things.

Dinesh D'Souza LIVE at Brandeis University
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9UTxBKQXRhE

And ironically, if Brandeis wanted to cancel Dinesh "Hillary's America" D'Souza with no reasons given, our constitutional Free Speech amendment would allow them to do EXACTLY THAT.
So would our Freedom of Assembly amendment.

D'Souza's presence suggests this's a Republican "Free Speech Week", where they're not too clear on the basic central concept, apart from "Nobody's allowed to pick on Trump", and "Protestors aren't allowed to shout down anybody."

It ain't that you have a "young face" (so do I), it's that you're mean-mugging the camera. When you combine that with deliberately edgelord "joke" comments, it's hard to take you seriously.

Hey, if you want to go "soft touch" on people suggesting that it's ok to unilaterally dissolve the first amendment and the very concept of western democracy, you're welcome to make that argument. Don't be surprised when I call you an idiot for suggesting that course of action, though.

Enjoy the salt *shrug*

PS-
Simply exchanging big, fancy words such as calling it "sodium chloride" instead of "salt" doesn't make your argument sound any more intellectual. Then saying it is "literal" when it is, in fact, quite figurative indeed, has quite the opposite effect and just makes you look foolish. If you want to say I'm salty, just say I'm salty. I am most assuredly *not* "literally making sodium chloride".

All he did was make a comment about the stupid fucking phrase chosen for this event.

The only one who seems like a tryhard teenage edgelord here is the guy who felt the need to comment on someones looks and belittle them over something that doesn't make them look like any of the things you said. But please do respond to this comment with some quasi-intellectual personal attack on me or another member for no reason at all. It's doing wonders for your overlord psychoanalysis bad-boy e-image.

If he wanted to point out that it was pointless to have a "Free Speech Week" in a nation where free speech is enshrined in law every week, he could have said that. Everyone else here already has, after all. Instead he stupidly opined that saying one week was a designated "free speech week" necessarily implied that any other week was not a free speech week, which does not logically follow. If we have independence day, does that mean we are British subjects the rest of the year? So his joke was based on a flawed premise, and was deliberately provocative.

When I pointed out that it was a foolish thing to say, he doubled down by airing an opinion that capital punishment would be appropriate in response to free speech, which even as a joke is patently absurd. I have no inclination to contribute to the "nod and wink" atmosphere of tacit condoning of violence against conservatives, and that's exactly what those kind of "jokes" are.

Don't want to get called out for saying stupid things merely to look edgy? Then don't say stupid things merely to look edgy.

As I said I wish to end this. It doesn't matter if you didnt find it funny. It was a joke. Anything can be made into a joke. Now please let the matter drop.

See, now, there's the rub. The event is a political statement that as things stand right now, conservatives feel they do *not* have freedom of speech, because adversarial local government (and unelected officials) have made a habit of cancelling their perfectly legal events, permitting unhindered and unregulated violence against them by "counter protesters", and have abused "hate speech" laws to materially harm persons that do not agree with their political views. So, sure, if you toe the progressive line, you can speak as freely as you like. If you don't, you quickly find free speech is being systematically curtailed.

"Wars begin when you will, but rarely end when you please" -Niccholo Machiavelli.

You said something I find to be offensive, stupid, and in support of a worrying popular attitude regarding violently silencing political opponents. I am entitled to respond to it, even if you don't like where it's going, or that you cannot ethically back up your prior statements.

Mocking the holocaust or voicing homicidal ideations about the president can be made into a joke, too, but that won't stop me from calling someone an idiot if they do it. The depths of hypocrisy in the progressive left these days, that they try to jail a man for teaching his girlfriend's dog to "seig heil" *specifically* as a joke about how horrible nazis are, yet think it's ok to "joke" about killing conservatives who disagree with them, because it's "just a joke!"

And then find out just how "fascistic" the Constitution allows the private sector to be in shudding-uppa-you-face.
