Post Reply Plastic Surgery

What do you think about plastic surgery? Do people change their appearance mostly due to insecurities? They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, Does it really matter when someone gets plastic surgery or do you think only in excessive amounts then it's a problem? Is it right to think of plastic surgery as somewhat altering appearance just like you would with tattoos and peircings? Do they even deserve to be in the same catagory?

With that said nowadays celebrities are all getting plastic surgery and promoting it or hiding that they had it. Here are some famous figures that had plastic surgery.

Marilyn Monroe

Monroe (under the alias "Joan Newman") had a cartilage implant done for a "chin deformity" in 1950, while a facial X-ray shows she also had a small fracture on her nose, which backs up claims that Marilyn had a slight rhinoplasty early in her career.

Really a chin deformity? Kind of harsh.

Kyle Kenner

The youngest Kardashian sister admitted to getting lip injections at the age of 17.
"I have had temporary lip fillers," she said on an episode of KUWTK. "It's just something that I wanted to do."
"I still do Juvéderm for my lips," she said. "I would recommend that anyone who gets it done go for a filler that lasts only two to four months. It’s annoying to keep going back, but you have the option of stopping it."

Megan Fox

According to after plastic surgery pictures of the gorgeous damsel one of the cosmetic procedures she has undergone is a nose job. Her nose was initially wider and flatter and filled her face. After the procedure Megan can be seen flaunting a much slimmer nose that suits the rest of her defined features. With a substantial amount of her nose trimmed down more attention is drawn to her spell-binding eyes. She has a long oval face and her sculpted nose is ideal for this shape.

As Hollywood stars get older they usually feel the need to get treatments like Botox. This would explain her flawless skin and the absence of wrinkles. Botox would be just one of the skin treatments that the actress has had. Achieving this flawless appearance would also require other treatments like chemical peels to keep the skin fresh and glowing.

She denies she had anything done but who believes that.

Lana Del Ray

Fuller and plumped lips are the first sign that we noticed. Her lips previously looked “normal” and not nearly juicy and plumped like they are now. The reason is probably the usage of filler injections to add volume to her lips. Such a look is achieved by injecting collagen filler.

The plastic surgery changed her nose and now it looks more wide and round. The theory on Rhinoplasty is definitely confirmed.

So I was wondering with my fellow crunchyrollers, have you had anything done? Would you be brave enough to post a before and after picture? If you guys want to post funny horrible procedures gone wrong, even though mean, might put awareness on excess plastic surgery as well.

I'm not a fan. It can work sometimes in small doses, but usually people go overboard and end up looking like some kind of alien.

Personally, I would never get plastic surgery. You can't improve on perfection.

Unless you have a serious beauty flaw, I think permanent body modification involving surgery is a personal sin. One should be able to accept themselves for who they are. Unless it's really bad, then you are forgiven. (like you got some serious hippo teeth, or a really big birthmark in an obvious location.)

Granted, both money and vanity are in plenty when it comes to big names in Hollywood, so I am not surprised most of the pictures shown are of Hollywood stars.

Now if I had to get it done, I would fix my worst trait, and the only one that makes me ugly; my premature balding hair. I would post a before and after. Though for trolls, I will probably put a picture of me with a hat on for both of them. I have gotten so use to wearing hats to cover it up that I probably still will after. (not that I would.)

Honestly I don't really care, if anything I think it's kinda wasteful of money as it could be spent on other things. But who am I to judge

unless it's medically necessary I see no point to it, but if someone wants to waste thousands I don't mind to hold a paw out. I don't understand nor see the appeal, but if that's what they want to do then have at it I guess.

Why would you spend all that money on your looks? Do you know how many gundam models and body pillows you can buy with that much money?

Even if your

before

and

after

comes out like this, I think that you're probably making some sort of mistake in your life somewhere. Otherwise you're probably running away from something or someone, or you're in some sort of abusive relationship where they are literally killing you off while leaving you alive.

Plastic surgery to repair damage from an injury or disease is worthwhile.

Plastic surgery for purely cosmetic reasons confuses me. From a logical perspective I can understand the desire to remain appealing but the result of even "successful" treatments leaves people looking odd to me. I am completely baffled by actors and actresses using botox to paralyze their faces. How do they expect to get a serious acting job again if they struggle to make different expressions?
