Can I just say I really like this thread? With how quickly the industry moves, it's not so often we get to go back and talk about anime made a year or more ago uness its some sort of big IP.

With the way this site (and the anime industry) is setup people do tend to only talk about the current or previous season. Which, of course, makes sense. But I've always felt that anime from the past shouldn't be so easily forgotten. Maybe I'm in the minority here, but there are so many wonderful series - many that have animation at or above the level of most of what comes out today - with rich stories and three-dimensional characters - that are always bouncing around in the back of my mind when I'm watching something new. I mean, when was the last time you saw anyone talking about Kara no Kyoukai, Skull Man, Tiger & Bunny, Karas, Toradora, Tsuritama, and so on? These are all highly rated anime that were popular when they came out, but it's like they've been drowned by everything that's come out since and forgotten.

Kind of why I made this thread. I'm interested in what sort of scenes have really stuck with people over time. Something that means something versus just the knee-jerk reaction to the newest flavor of the week.

Episode 6 of Princess Principal, I literally couldn't watch anything else that day, I felt a heavy feeling in my heart because of how emotional the ending of the episode was.

Fatal Fury: The Movie

The end scene. I know it's kinda lame but Terry Bogard was an influence for me in my teen years. Poor Terry is destined to be a lone wolf.

I haven't seen any of the FFs or King of Fighters, actually. Are they all worth watching?

Alright, to help save you the trouble. For those who're wondering what this is, it's from Plastic Memories.

As for this thread:

I've been watching animes for the past 11 years. Not a lot of scenes get stuck to me, but I do get "enveloped" in them and after few moments, I was able to shake it off.

Although, I'll have to give it to you straight; this one was an exception...

I've seen some animes that have rough episodes to watch. Elfen Lied, Higurashi, Blood-C, Shiki, Another, Hellsing and Corpse Party to name some.

But "that" was the worst one I've seen in years... I actually had to take a short break from watching animes after finishing the series "that" is from.

If you're a fan of the game series then a big yes. The dubs are actually quite good. Fatal Fury has two OVAs which are good. The second is much better than the first. But I would totally recommend the movie. Some great 90's anime action scenes. It does a good job getting in all your favorite fighters from the games. Much like what Street Fighter did with their movie.

I haven't seen it in years but I think the movie holds up well. If you do watch it let me know your thoughts.

More like, I didn't expect "that" to be portrayed in such a way...

I've seen NintendoCapriSun stream the whole game on Twitch. And he posted videos of it on his YouTube account.

And I would've said "I take it you never played the Second Game" if I were you.

I was being Cryptic for a reason...

Very cool, and will do. I played those quite a bit back then, but never caught any of the anime. Loved the Street Fighter treatment.
