Honestly, I don't think it matters. I read and watch a ton on my phone (ZTE Max Duo). Which is 6 inches but I used to use a 5s which was 4.2 inches. I guess it's just preference.

I use a "kid" tablet myself, I use nextbook and it handles the weight of CR with no problem, including the app, the site, reading manga, etc. I even have a few games on there and it does just fine. and it's considered kid friendly, meaning it's harder to break than some, just not all the bells and whistles, but it does just fine for me.

I read on my iPad. WiFi only. So I use Manga Storm to download manga when I travel. I can open the app once a week, and it will download everything that's been updated. I like the feature that allows me to scroll through, instead of flipping pages. The Viz App allows me to download manga, but it doesn't allow scrolling. The Crunchyroll app allows scrolling if you turn it sideways. I also use the Naver/Line manhwa app which I can read on my Iphone or my iPad. My iphone has all of the above apps, but the screen is hard to read because of size.

The bottom line is pick the biggest screen you can afford, unless you have excellent vision. But, Having all apple products makes it easier to use the same apps in multiple devices. The same goes for schools books and other documents. I have Kindle on my ipad and iphone also.
