I've been using Firefox to stream anime for a number of years now, but anytime I watch more than a couple episodes in a row I start to get problems with lag/video stuttering. I've tried using the WiiU CR app and although it tends to run smoother it seems to have some problems with keeping track of the correct playtime when loading a partially watched video or when doing a fast forward or reverse.

I have several game consoles and other devices that have a CR app available, so I'm wondering, of all the devices that have Crunchyroll apps, which are the most stable?

I use custom PC w Firefox as for me it has the least amount of issues. That said CR has being doing a lot of behind the scenes work on their systems which unfortunately has unintended consequences of video quality suffering. Another thing to consider is your available memory, graphics card ability as well as internet connectivity. Hopefully you find a happy balance with at least one platform that works for you!

I would amend that to say that Roku-3 still works great. The Roku TVs and even some of the sticks, not so much...

It's probably time to upgrade, but I still have a Roku 2 HD and the CR channel seems to work fine. Interesting that TVs with Roku built-in don't work so well!

My Roku Insignia TV plays approximately half of the simulcast shows just fine when I try, but the rest just hang on "Loading" and never start playing at all. It does seem that it is the same series which will or won't play each time I try. Interestingly, on those which don't start, I can still push the FF/>> key and get the interstitial thumbnail boxes, and traverse them, but no pictures in them, and it won't start in the middle if I try to push play again. I have heard similar reports for TCL and other Roku TV manufacturers, and occasionally some of the sticks either do the same or maybe it is a different problem with those...

So, when I can't play on the TV, I also have an Amazon Fire TV stick (bought when they first appeared for $20/half price) that I switch to, which usually plays everything just fine, but that has its own very annoying quirk. If I forget to back out with the back arrow key every time I am done, it eventually "times out" on the connection and loses my queue and history. Sometimes I can recover from that by doing a power cycle, but once in awhile I will have to go to the main device settings and clear the memory for the CR app, which makes me have to log in again.

I have the Roku 3 in a different room and it never has given me a problem yet, even wireless. I probably should get another one, but am loathe to spend the $90-100 that those cost just so that I can say "I like Roku so I put a Roku box on my Roku TV so that I can watch the CR Roku channel on my Roku"...

when it comes to streaming things are stored in cache, this can't be cleared on all devices, however, I've found once I've streamed two or three episodes here on CR that if I clear my cache then the next one returns to loading just fine. the add-on I use for FF is cache status, it parks itself at the top of the browser and you can clear it without clearing entirely all your cache, much easier than opening options.

regarding tablet, same problem, I can stream a few then the app freezes and closes, however clearing the cache or restarting the tablet this also fixes long term problems.

hope this helps you some in your decisions.

Oh! Completely forgot I have a Roku 3. Haven't used it since I upgraded my pc to a card with hdmi out.

Tried plugging it in to check it out, video on the CR channel looks fine, but for some reason the sound has this weird slurring echo on it. Which now that I think about it might be 1/2 of the reason I upgraded my pc to hdmi (with the other 1/2 being so that I could play my pc games on my hdtv)
