Only wen they are willing to do it for free.

Otherwise its just a job, for all we know they can be total assholes.. who off the clock would not lift a finger to save anyone.
Sad sad sick world we live in.

Right, there really aren't that many life threatening events. Then they would only exist in theory like robot wars

Okay, so we just took your opening post more seriously than we should, spent the whole thread smart-slapping and disagreeing with it, and now you're "That's right, you've made a very good point, my friend!..."

Let's be honest, you just have no idea WHAT the hell you ever post in your threads after the first post-bomb, do you, so long as you get that Golden Stretch?

Programmers build dreams that let others be happy and help bring order to the world in some cases with Automation and AI programming.
If not for programmers I would still be depressed maybe not even alive today so for me I put them up there and respect them as true heros

I would not disagree that programmers are invaluable and that we owe them thanks for much of what is good about the lives we live today. But Doctors make calls that save or lose a life then and there. Sure programmers make choices that affect and indirectly save lives, sure, but I hope we can agree the two are different.

As for police, some police are heroes, some are among the most detestable villains and overgrown schoolyard bullies in existence.

Firefighters are hands down the closest thing we have to comic book superheros because unlike cops they don't sometimes create victims of their own while serving their communities.

What are your thoughts on soldiers?

Reality.

Being a "super hero" without any powers would be a terrible job.

Rujikin was right that artificial intelligence could be considered a super hero power. Think of Spiderman with an AI suit. Think of what a dozen of those dudes can do

Speaking of suits. Iron Man. His suits could eventually be mass produced and wearing an Iron Man suit would be normal.

If vigilantes existed in real life, the criminals would just kill them when ever they interfered with their criminal business

I think soldiers are like police in that sense many of them are heros but some use it for fame don't try to save others and do despicable things in war (war crimes or killing children).

Should of added them to the list since my brother is a soldier whoops also I agree they are different but I still class them as both heroes in my books thought doctors more so as you said those decisions save lives

There just isn't superpowers. I believe in the far future we will have nanobots that can give us superhuman like abilities, but that's like 2150. If humans still even exist.
