This is a japanese word game, you take turns each saying one word, but your word must start with the syllable that the last word ended with, an example would be
person 1:Pillow
person 2: Pillar
and so on, i'll start!

it's not just you. the example given doesn't make sense as it's not shiritori. an actual example would be like

ここ『ろ』 → ロマンチッ『ク』 → くやし『い』
koko[ro] -> romanti[ku] -> kuyashi['i'] -> ...
this would require some knowledge of Japanese words.
shiritori doesn't work too well in English - for English words its probably better to consider just the last letter instead.
example:

tabl[e] -> endearin[g] -> ghos[t] -> topi[c] -> ...
