Yahoo? Ppl still use that crap dish for mail? They were a thriving cesspool for viruses, malware and fraudulent email years and years ago. I see little has changed

Haha, yahoo sucks. It's funny because I said it before this happened.

I use my yahoo for unimportant things usually. Most money things go to gmail. If you hack my yahoo. You will find more about the things I buy, than what I buy them with. Since google sells that information in bulk why bother hacking it.

I've been an email hoarder since 2003, still use my first, which is yahoo, along with 5+ other yahoo accounts for different things. None have passwords now, though. Can only get on from my cell phone. But I knew about the hack years ago.
I use gmail as well, but only for people I deal with directly. Well, and various things. Kinda have 4 gmail accounts as well. I have at least 10 email including hotmail. Each for something different...
This is why the site "have I been pwned?" is great, they alert you if your email+p/w has ever been compromised, and where it was taken from.

Three years ago, it was publicly advised that all Yahoo users were to promptly reset passwords and whatnot. At this point, any semblance of surprise is laughable.

The only thing I use my Yahoo email for, is signing up for giveaways and stuff. They can send all that annoying spam there, that I rarely check, and keep my main email free from that crap.

This.

However I never had a Yahoo account per say. It was Bellsouth and Yahoo bought them, then AT&T, etc. Either way I'm not all the worried

Don't remember my emails or passwords for my Yahoo emails, and they were just emails for getting free stuff or multiple accounts, that kind of stuff. Basically, I don't give a f*** about this news, especially since Yahoo has gone to hell.

I switched over to Gmail back in 2012 so there's nothing important on my old Yahoo e-mails, don't care really.

As long as you change your password regularly you're ok. Same for any sites with logins be it email, shopping, videos streaming sites, etc.
