Hello.
I'm looking for some great sports anime ideally with strong romance element (although there're not strictly necessary). Probably the closest things to what I want're titles like Cross Game, Chihayafuru, Touch or H2. Also Welcome to the ballroom is a bit close.
When it comes to sport series with little to no romance I love my Haikyuu, Yowapeda and plenty of others.

/baby-steps sounds the closest to what you are after. There are good romance anime and good sports anime but there are very few good romance & sports anime.

Another one you may want to try is /food-wars-shokugeki-no-soma, which turns cooking into a sport. The series seems to be laying the groundwork for future romantic encounters but it hasn't gone into much depth yet (it is just starting its third season).

If you don't mind same-sex relationships there is also /yuri-on-ice.

I'd offer up Diamond No Ace, Air Gear, Baby Steps, Teekyuu, Prince of Tennis. Don't know if they are all here(they might be) but those are some I've watched in the past.

Almost anything based on a manga by Mitsuru Adachi:

That would be like Touch, Cross Game, H2, Nine, etc.

There's also Ben-To... if you consider a FIght Club that battles for half-priced bentos a sport...

Yes, maybe it's time to dig into another Adachi series. I haven't read him for a while, although he's my favorite manga author. Shame that only a few of his works were adapted into an anime :(.

There's Slam Dunk. It's a little older but I watched it for the first time a couple years ago and it holds up nicely.
