Episode 3

And another guy joins the mansion, and this one is Van Helsing's natural enemy, the vampire Dracula Jr. While Van is out to abduct Finis, the leader of Twilight, he'll need some cash, so Lupin is out to steal an heirloom of the Delacroix family, which Van helped eradicate during a raid. Van goes after Dracula at the castle, but he decides to spare him for now until he completes his mission. Dracula sure is a handful there, but it's understandable since he is up against someone who was part of a group of humans who discriminated against the vampires. In the meantime, Cardia is learning how to fight, and that should really be something.

I'm digging all the pretty boys, but all I can see when I look at Arsène Lupin is the MC from Persona 5, whose outfit is based on him.

Episode 4

And Cardia meets her long lost brother, Finis. Lupin was trying to kidnap Finis while on a train, but it turns out to be a trap as Finis intentionally leaked this information out, and he had the British Army behind him, thus foiling the operation. While that's happening, Lupin meets his rival Sherlock Holmes, or rather Herlock Sholmes, all while Van Helshing squares off against Aleister. Cardia and company manage to get away after the failed operation, so now they will have to regroup. Lots of thrills here as there was a lot happening, but it was all for naught. Cardia changes her outfit and she looks great wearing men's clothing seeing that she will have to wear something that's easy to move in.

They even got Sherlock Holmes in this show!

Tbh, I'm starting to like Van Helsing more. He still seems like the toughest character to get along with but he's also starting to respect Cardia more.

Cardia looked nice in her train outfit

The trap was obvious already last episode. To me it was more of a question of how it would play out, and how they would escape. Also to begin with, what exactly would be the point of capturing Finis? Did they intend to torture him for information? Hold him for ransom? The first while understandable is highly unethical, and the second while practical financially wouldn't help otherwise. Unless they intended to hold him forever or kill him, the point of capturing him eludes me. Perhaps I'm being dense, and I'll admit it was late at night when I watched the last 2 episodes but I don't get it.

But I love how they have gone all out with the steampunk setting.

This thing is boring. At least Lupin is sexy and Cardia is cute.

SHOLMES: I see you too are wearing a top hat

LUPIN: WE MUST BATTLE

Cardia is the most boring reverse harem protag I've ever seen. She has practically zero presence. I'm so close to dropping this because I'm so bored. But I'll give it a couple more episodes for Maeno and Suwabe's sakes.

And Crunchyroll has been come under attack by the hackers.  But I was able to watch this episode by accessing the link through their Twitter account that is automated.

Episode 5

As a result of that explosion in the train incident, Lupin and company are now all wanted fugitives making thing quite difficult for everybody.  Frankenstein goes out to Buckingham Palace to try and negotiate to remove their fugitive status, but they get themselves cornered.  Just when it looked bad, in comes Lupin as he has tracked the British Army's movements, and Impey gets Frankenstein over to the palace demanding the queen to remove their fugitive status or else get blasted with zicterium.  So in the end, the queen lets them off the hook.  It turns out Frankenstein was part of a project to create a philosopher's stone that could grant eternal life, but that was a pipe dream and what he created was used as a chemical weapon.  That was really tragic with Frankenstein's dream being turned into an instrument of death, though at least Cardia was saved because of it.

Episode 6

Now, it's an episode about Impey as he is asked to build an airship for a race with something belonging to Isaac as the reward. Naturally, the airship would be stolen and modified with Impey's expertise to win the race. Then the race becomes a hunt when a reward is announced, while Captain Nemo builds a massive ship. But thanks to its maneuverability and Van Helsing doing all the dirty work in taking the other ships down that Impey won the race. Impey can really be a handful, but when it comes to building stuff he can't be beat. And now that they have a clue, the truth about Cardia is revealed in that she's a homunculus created in an underground lab. Should be interesting to see what happens now that Cardia knows her origins.

It seems to me that this show isn't so much about Cardia, but how many "extras" the authors can pull out of literature and arbitrarily insert them into the story line with appropriate steam punk clothing

Dang, that ending this week gave me the chills.

The airship race and fighting was cool and all but what Cardia discovered in the aftermath...yikes.
