Honestly one of the better hack and slash/samurai anime out there. Graphics are top quality and action scenes don't get skimped on much in terms of intensity and visual/auditory effect. My only real split hair with this one is that it follows an incredibly A-typical plot journey in that at some point, the action scenes feel irrelevant and to me at least, it feels like a lot of the intensity or challenge in them is lost.

For instance, The Ootachi when they first encounter it is a great big, intense and seeming the Ootachi are skilled warriors themselves. So much so that it's able to hold off all four of our main character for a short while. Then on their next encounter there is thousands of them, all of which fall prey to simple sword play a team working tricks like moths to a light bulb.

I will give this anime a 7/10. For the type of anime it's trying to be, it gets what it needs to do done mostly right but fails with an a-typical and frankly, slightly lazy series implimentation.

Feel free to debate or stick ya nose up at my 2 cents if you wish, but please no personal insults at other people in thread or all round general asshattedness. You're all old enough to know what that entails. Good day folks.

there's a Katsugeki thread I'm sure on here somewhere...

I loved it overall and it's definitely one of my faves this year...but as someone who plays the game, my only nitpicks are that they made Horikawa a bit OOC.....and Unit One made Unit Two look shitty as hell

I've closed this because, as Nogara-san has suggested, we already have Touken Ranbu discussion threads. Please post there.

I think this is the one you're talking about, and it's recently active.
