I always have to find the re arrange order button to avoid spoilers when watching an anime I am not up to date on, even a picture of a character with no context or an episode title is a spoiler. Is there a way to have it show oldest episode first when I go to an anime's page right off the bat without having to click anything each time?

Probably not the answer you are looking for but I just add the show to my queue and watch from there. Starts you off on the first episode and you only see the thumbnail of that current episode as long as you avoid the drop-down arrow on the right.

Not when you view the show page itself via the website, unfortunately. Not having a configurable default without clicking "oldest" every time you visit a page is a peeve of mine as well, and has been brought up quite a few times by other users. Here is a sampling:

But as a potential answer to your question, you could use the Android app, and/or the Win-10 UWP app; once you set the display order on one series, those two remember to do it for any/all others too, at least, until you change the order again.

The Roku and Fire TV apps only show oldest first when you go to a series that has only one season, but with multiple seasons, they display those by stripe, and the newest stripes are first, but at least the episode order is from oldest to newest.

IDK about any of the other apps (xbox, ps3/4, Apple/IOS, etc), I don't use those.

On the web, If you put the show in your queue by going to the general "shows" tab, which only shows the general splash images for the series, and hover over the series, the "add to queue" button shows up. If you do that instead of going to the actual show page, once in your queue, it only shows the episode you are on, not any of the newer ones unless you click something to show more.

But none of those are answers of how to avoid it on the show page itself, sorry, that doesn't exist.
