I would like some customer input before I start buying stuff from them. They hardly have any customer reviews on there and that kind of gives me mixed vibes as far as their credibility goes.

Yes they are good. Ive bought a whole bunch of stuff from them. Playstation vita games as well as cds. Always packed well nothing has ever arrived damaged etc. Ive only ever had one item (maxi cd) be canceled due to out of print.

What items do you plan on buying?

I have used them to get new release DVD/BLU rays. personally I enjoy their service. For example I ordered Kimi No Na Wa(your name) pre-release. they kept me updated on the status and I even got the Bluray a day before they told me it was scheduled for actual release. Now to be truthful I have only used them for pre orders so I cannot speak to shipping times from actual order date as usually its weeks to months.

I bought many light novels from them and never had any problems with them. Once, something was backordered and they kept me updated on the ETA. They're good.

Used to buy from them but now use Amazon.com.jp English site instead for OSTs, certain anime releases (must have English subtitles since I can't read / understand Japanese), OP & ED singles. I have found Amazon.co.jp to be cheaper than CDJapan on items but it still requires diligent price comparison before buying as it's not always so. Also, item returns to Amazon.co.jp are very pricey (shipping is sky high) so do be mindful what you want before you commit. I do not know if CDJapan allows returns or what their terms are re such.

I've moved this over to the Advice, Info, Recommendations forum.

I haven't used them a lot, but I have made some purchases there, and it's been a very good experience. Easy to order, easy to see how much I'm paying, including for shipping, everything has arrived within a reasonable amount of time undamaged, and everything that has arrived has been exactly what I ordered.

I use them for almost everything I order from Japan except in the cases where they don't have the particular item I'm looking for. If they have it, they're the ones I use.

The pricing is good, the shipping options are very solid and I almost never get charged anything extra when I order from them unlike what I often find to happen with other services. They have a point system that has you earning discounts when you buy from them (not really unusual anymore, I suppose, but still a nice incentive). And, maybe most importantly, they have excellent customer service. I've had no issues ordering from them but on the occasion where I've had an issue with wanting to change an order or something they've been extremely prompt and always willing to at least try to help.

The only thing you have to watch out for with cdjapan is that they do custom orders of items they don't have listed in their own system. This can be a great thing if you find something on a specific site but that isn't listed for sale anywhere that ships to where you are. But, buying things via this method can be very expensive as they add a processing fee. Not a big deal if you are aware of it beforehand but some of the items that appear in their standard inventory were actually added to the inventory by this method so there's the occasional price that is really out of whack from what you might see elsewhere. Once you know what to look for, though, it's not really an issue.

I used them once to find an obscure CD that I couldn't find on Amazon, and liked their service. The CD showed up on time, in only a couple of weeks.

I used to only use cdjapan. I rarely use it now. Have opted for Amazon. It's more about availability really. Though their shipping time is always 3 weeks at least(at best). Never had an issue with packaging.

Now, the last couple of orders I've made. They canceled due to items being out of print... They'll respond saying they are obtaining item from manufacturer. Then several weeks later update you that the item is in fact "out of print". All in all wasting your time.

I've bought all 26 volumes of Kami nomi zo shiru sekai, 4 volumes of Sword art Online's light novel, 12 volumes of Ima wa no kuni no Alice, and a copy of Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax for the PS Vita.

All were shipped quick and with no damage. Shipping prices are reasonable as well for the weight. I would highly recommend them.
