Kind of an unusual request around here, though this seems like enough of a good place with friendly people to ask: Canadians, what do you think of your country? Are there particular pros and cons you would highlight about it?

I'll be visiting Vancouver BC for the first time in a few weeks, and hope to both unwind a bit there and discover the city and its area, keeping an eye to see if I would like it on the long-term. If you have recommendations around there, I'll make sure to take a look!

No worries, I do know Canada isn't perfect, regardless of how some like to spin it. All I really know is that its nature scenery is marvelous, and maybe, just maybe, its people are nicer-than-average. Getting some opinions from you locals would help me to get a better sense of what I'm looking at.

A bit more context for those kind enough to read it:

We have no back bone now, and we let everyone walk all over us.

Come on down ! Enjoy your stay. People only come here to take advantage of our dollar and retire anyways

Hi buddies,
I'm from Canada. I grew up in Vancouver, but I currently live a couple of hours out of Toronto.
Vancouver is much scenic and nature-oriented with hundreds of outdoors things to do - sandy beaches, dense urban forests, mile high mountains and tranquile islands all within a few minutes of a hectic city of well over two million. Be sure to visit Victoria. Victoria is a pretty long day trip. It takes about four hours each way, although the journey is definitely worthwhile. You need eTA to enter Canada. This may help -
