Kino from Kino's Journey -the Beautiful World- the Animated Series. I really thought she was a guy until I saw the comments in the last episode. I looked it up and found out she really was a girl.

Same here man. We missed a very obvious lead, though. Google itself has this description for the anime. Front page summary result:

"Kino and her talking motorcycle, Hermes, travel through a mystical world."

.
. .
. . .

People can be whatever they want.

Yet it's like hygiene... you can choose to do whatever you want with it. But don't get offended if someone else draws their own conclusion.

I watched the original Kino's Journey (which I totally recommend) and even then I suspected Kino of being a girl. But I watched the dub and it was obvious a female was doing the voice. They didn't try hard covering it up. And her comments saying things like "Don't call me a boy, my name is Kino" kinda tips you off.

There are TWO boys in the picture... I was never 100% sure which one the other is because it was not made obvious and people's comments on the episodes are misleading. I haven't finished this anime yet, it's kind of a downer.

The illustrious term of trap is a badge of honor. if you are dressing to convince and can't, you cannot trap anyone. Trap=Successful. Let's think positive of our peers instead of assuming every word used is a hate crime.

As to who confused me, I remember when Cowboy Bebop was 'new' and the early internet bubbled with debates on Ed's gender. Back then unless you caught the reruns it was hard to do the research.

Why i even remember when Sailor Moon was first on TV and our version of the show purposely made non-canon gender swaps just to prevent parents from worrying.

I've seen someone else use this argument for Alluka and it's one that lines up the most with my own views.

Either way, author has not confirmed for sure what the situation is. That's just my take on it, with the information that I have and knowing
the Zoldyck's attitude towards Alluka.

I like non-gender-conforming boys but I'm meh on non-gender-conforming girls... everyone should be frillier and more flowery than anyone wants them to be. Girls just have limited room to defy expectations in this department.

Frilly, flowery boys are the best type of character for two reasons:
1. the rarity makes them more appealing. Frilly, flowery girls are too common. (I say this as a frilly, flowery female-bodied agender... I'm too common to be interesting for my looks).
2. .... the softness against a hard body is actually very sensual and attractive. Girls with athletic or thin bodies in soft clothes count for this as well. And soft bodies are also very nice... but there's just something about like, the soft silk of a bellydancer costume against a lean-muscular body that's.... so hot.

I think almost all of my favorite characters are boys who could be mistaken for girls. All of my original characters are agender (because gender doesn't exist in the settings that I write about), most of them are physically male with long hair and soft clothes/lots of jewelry. And then the rest are soft, bouncy girls. Almost all of them (both types) have waist-length hair and wear more jewelry than clothing.

I suppose Dead End from Tekkaman Blade qualifies. And if that's not an acceptable answer, there's always Envy from Fullmetal Alchemist.

I remember when I first watched FMA I thought Envy was a woman for most of the series. Oh well. He can change his whole body at will so it doesn't matter.

That's true. Also, I forgot to mention it, but Ranma Saotome is literally gender fluid.

Why do people think it's demeaning?

Traps are set by an enemy to hurt people. They're bad things that nobody likes or wants.

Can you see why someone might not want to be called this?
