Well i guess because who in their right minds would want their child seeing/reading that?
I know it actually pissed a lot of black people off because there is a genuine belief that there is some sort of agenda to pusg being gay onto the black man and destroy the black family lol.
I dont see the book as being progressive. But iam willing to bet my own life that you do?

So if I understand correctly, because of baseless conspiracy theory bullshit most likely based in prejudice. Is that it?

Well you're still not answering my question so I guess I will have to ask them. I'll need you to point them out to me though since for something felt by supposed "shitloads of black people" there seems to be a tremendous lack of such reactions. I did find one white guy complaining about it on fox news though, and even he didn't entertain idiotic delusions of gay conspiracies. The article did have a clear basis in prejudice though, so I guess that part lines up.

It doesn't matter to me. This is a pointless argument that just divides people. Who cares! LOL.

I'm with qwueri. I can imagine folks pretending to be super progressive or whatever by demanding something that has already been done for decades. That's certainly one way to stir the shit-pot and try and take credit for the actions of other people at the same time.

You can show me all the mall santas in the world, but when's the last time when a Christmas movie came out with a Eddie Murphy or Jackie Chan playing not a mall santa, but a Santa Claus at the North Pole? Where's the movie where Rihanna comes down my chimney? Where Antonio Banderas fills my stockings? Where Will Smith yells "Ho ho ho, and to all a good night"?

Yeah, pretty much. People here debate to prove each other wrong which only cause chaos and nobody benefits. Debates are best used to learn from each other. It's not a competition. Debates should be about helping each other understand and know more. Trying to prove others wrong all the time is a sign of insecurity. It's not exactly a good trait. You need to prove others wrong to feel good about your own beliefs.

I used to have a problem where I needed to win arguments all the time. All it gave me was stress due to being so serious. Why be so serious and stress out? I have no need to prove myself anymore. I just share what I know. Take it or leave it. If I see you might be open to changing your mind then I might help you understand more.

No, but from the context of the thread I had a pretty good feeling it would be something related to Itsudatte My Santa.

Well i follow hip hop culture and have so for almost 30 years. And i can tell you that i see MANY black people blaming the fact that new era rappers dress weird and have man bags and cross dress on some agenda to make the black man gay and destroy them.
Also on the face book pages where the gay black Santa was posted it was the same sort of comments by black people.

EDIT:you'll see similar comments on you tube as well.
Oh and rappers dont like gays. Yeah now a days they say its cool because you know, its the thing to say, but in all my years of listening to hip hop, gay, fag, faggot, etc are words used as insults.

I imagine it exists because gay couples raising children exist. And it's a closer reflection of the parents than a straight Santa, helping their kids feel that much more normal on Christmas.

I guess that makes sense in a way. It's just that I've always regarded Santa as a figure of good nature and love and never really associated him with sexual preference. Like I knew about Mrs. Claus when I was a kid, but I was too young to even think about straight couples and whatnot.

More like; how often do self-respecting stars want to portray North Pole Santa, period? Also, Antonio Banderas isn't known to be anything other than white. He's from Malaga, Spain.
