None of these shows are available in my region anyway, however I bought Girl's High on DVD from the USA several years ago. So it's okay , I'm not losing any sleep.

Everyone should watch destroy all monsters before it expires. Seriously, if you don't have time just skip to the final battle, should be the last 20-30 minutes. You can thank me later.

LOL thanks forgot how horrible special effects use to be. Even better is seeing Japanese dubbing over the guys obviously speaking English

How dare you, those costumes look badass as fuck, the ones that were actually used in the film itself and not the stock footage anyway.

It's more about the budget and methods used than the time itself. Destroy All Monsters came out in 1968, the same year as 2001: A Space Odyssey, whose effects still hold up today. Well, to be fair, planets and spaceships and cosmic acid trips are easier to do convincingly than kaiju.

And I generally prefer, for example, the stop motion Kong vs. T-Rex fight in King Kong (1933) over tokusatsu. But that's just personal taste, since I didn't grow up watching Godzilla movies or anything like them.

Why is Girls' High ending? I watched 3 eps right now and really its a good show, I would watch the whole series but I doubt I will have time. It really feels like it is based on a female's perspective of being at a girls' school, as the manga author was. Why does this have to expire?

tl;dr: Because of the contract terms

To explain further, it is either because the original contract term is expiring and the publisher doesn't wish to renew it, or they are asking for terms that don't make economic sense to CR.

Well, I finished watching Girls' High the other day, anyway. To me, it was pretty decent. One of the girls in the anime is so funny and dumb, one of which strives to be an actress but to no avail and yes, I know it does have "panty shots" and whatnot but that's because of the animation studio called, "Arms Corporation", the same studio that did Kite, Kite Liberator, Mezzo Forte, Wizard Barrister, Brnhildr in the Darkness (I hate that anime), and even Elfen Lied. The studio is well-known for "fan-service" and I'm sure some people would know exactly what I am talking about.

Girls' High to me was decent because the animation may not hold up by today's standards and all 6 girls get into random, silly and mundane situations and that's how I describe it in my own words. After a while, things do get a bit boring rather quickly. I know it is funny and it has some ecchi elements thrown in for good measure but not everyone will see this show as their favorite and that's okay. I can't blame others for that.
I'm just glad it's not hentai otherwise, I would be so turned off and ashamed of myself for that sort of thing. I'm aware that it is an adaptation of the manga and sadly, there will not be a season 2 for it because beggars cannot be choosers and I sound like a jerk for that.

I apologize if anyone does like Girls' High despite its flaws and that's cool. I just don't think it resonates with me and there are better anime to watch than this one, that's just me. I'm also not a big fan of Arms Corporation and I'm sure everyone will hate my guts for saying that.

Haters gonna hate and lovers gonna love!

I tried watching Girl's High, and made it partway into episode 2 before the "Glorious" 240p (or whatever terrible resolution that was) and the panty shots and (literal) bathroom humor did me in, and I switched to watching Daily Lives of High School Boys instead. Funnily enough, that show also featured girls from an all-girl school, who also complained that the girls at the girl's high school were way messier than the boys at the boys only high school, just like the characters in Girl's High talked about.

There are good elements to Girl's High, but it seems dated in a lot of ways, from endless panty-shots to the point of boredom (even for guys who are into girls, like me) to dry spells without interesting moments that were honestly kind of boring. The ending animation was great though. The dancing was very well animated and seemed like it was mo-capped, if such a thing is even possible with 2D.

That said, I don't think I'll finish that show. I only have 1 day left, and a lot of other things I want to watch first, and frankly, Girl's High is something I would normally watch after I'm done with most of the things I really wanted to watch in my queue. If it ever pops up on something like CR or Hulu or somewhere I have a subscription, I might give it another shot, but don't want to watch it right now. Plus, sometimes it gave a little TMI in regards to female situations, which did not make for a necessarily relaxing viewing.

All those shows are gone now but the pages are still there. Good place holders if they come back someday.

its actually happened lots, it's when the contract expires, but they do a fairly decent job of bidding on everything so they keep a decent selection
