I wouldn't even look once to see if there are any survivors to the accident that I'm driving past.

That has all sorts of way worse connotations and implications then people just reacting.

It means you live in a place were people either stiffen their psychological responses or they don't have them outright. Both have grave implications. I don't think there is anything wrong with people reacting to poor things. It's people not understanding the mechanisms of the things they are reacting to and the potential harm things cause.

The only upside is he's 100% killed his career in anything outside of Youtube. No company is going to touch him with a 10 foot pole now.

I really hope this is the case. I've never heard of this guy but what a piece of shit.

Can they ban him from ever posting another video again?

I'd say the family of a suicide victim suffer that sort of stigma wether people like it or not.

Some people just can't help but be noisy little bugs. It's always about who cries out the loudest.

How fucking priviledged do you have to be to complain that advertisers no longer want to give you enough money for you to straight up buy a house and then go and show footage of suicide victims on the platform those advertisers have their names on? Even a toddler should be able to figure out that that's not gonna put you in anyone's good books.

Well, malignant narcissism. >.>

Probably won't hurt his subs that much in the long run but his advertising revenue and career outside of Youtube on the other hand. He was starting an acting career and has been in a few shows on TV in the last year or so as well as had a bunch of pretty big advertising partners. This is going to end that career outside of Youtube and hit his bottom line in terms of advertising.

Pewdewpie's "jokes" cost him 3 million in ad revenue and every show/network deal/major ad deal he had. Will be interesting to see what joking over a dead body does to this arsehole's income.

He went to Aokigahara?!? So this guy was obviously looking for dead bodies to film. I just thought he was an asshole, but now this paints him as mental and creepy. Like, needs to see a doctor mental and creepy.

Jesus fucking christ you're right. Apparently the place is known as a massive suicide location and he fucking went there with a camera with the intent to film dead bodies and got paid for it. There are so many things wrong here.

Not just Aokigahara, he went into the forest's restricted areas where it is repeatedly posted and told to by forest services that guests aren't allowed to go. With a camera.

It almost goes beyond Narcissistic personality disorder. At least in most cases people can mask it with an understanding that there are certain things they can't do.. He outright seems to seek out pushing terror into peoples lives.

...Frankly, his everyday excitement mania is pretty terrifying to begin with.

I won't lie, the whole concept of "Youtube Celebrities" is so stupid. You let these kids, who are clearly missing a few chromosomes, film their daily dumbass adventures and give them money for it. The people who watch these Paul idiots (I didn't know there were two) are on the same wavelength. Maybe it's the cranky old man in me, but these youtube idiots really push my buttons. Exited the second I saw pewdiepie but I did google the incident and it's disgusting.

No worries haha. I did think about whether it was wise to post pewdiepie or not given that he isn't the most upstanding person himself, but he seems to cover the incident pretty in depth compared to most youtubers who are simply reacting emotionally.

Regardless, I think self made celebrity culture is a vain of narcissism to begin with so it isn't really surprising that it would be this way. It takes a certain type of person to broadcast their daily life to thousands of people.

Yes, its pretty much just straight up called the suicide forest. They didn't just randomly stumble upon a dead body. They set up to go into the "spooky" forest for a vlog. Giving that they didn't immediate turn the camera off and notify authorities I'm guessing he saw finding a body as a bonus. Despite all his caterwauling now about how he did it all to "raise awareness" and didn't do it for the views.

It's not like this was live streamed either. He had to edit and upload this video. So he had numerous opportunities to think about what he was doing and, you know, not do it.

Without really reading much or watching the video I just thought he had found a random body. But after reading more and saw he went to Aokigahara I was like HOLD THE BRAKES!!! That's not a place people normally go to film. Maybe I can understand a crew going there for a documentary and getting natural footage. I know people find the forest's history & lore fascinating. But he went there filming for all the wrong reasons. Gross

You mean in a broad youtube sense, right? I'd agree with that. We are always trying to gain a spark from people in our actions. People have different ways off dealing with that impulse. But, profiting off of tragedy is so American that it would be hard to convince people not to. Even the jake paul outrage is used as people react to what he did that was so terrible.

The people effected don't deserve to be used as a tool though. What gets me is this victims family will now have to see this ugly side of America as someone garners attention off of their friend, or child, or sibling. How awful.

it was funny when Johnny Knoxville and crew gathered around a camera and did stupid things, but this cast had a line they simply would not cross, unlike the "youtube stars" which concerns me greatly. I am torn between ahole, idiot or insane. I suppose, in some cases possibly more than one per individual. I sure do have great concerns for the future if this "trend/fad" continues. imagine the horrors of "this" generation upon the world and taking care of the elderly. they take pictures of dead bodies and laugh, what do you think they are going to do with poor ole grandma.

I knew there were more than just a few problems with this guy, saw bits of his videos from other Youtuber's who criticized him and talked about how he was rude and disruptive, but this is a whole new level of disgusting.
