Overall, the 4rd and 5th episodes were definitely stronger than the first few (except for Soichi who is apparently just always going to be a waste of time). The issue that's becoming very apparent, though, is that the dialogue is really hurting the show. This sort of material just works so much better when characters aren't talking and essentially explaining exactly what is going on. Even going back to the fairly weak Fashion Model episode, it just would have been made better by cutting most of the talking.

The first part was pretty interesting with the multiple universe and such, second part is just Soichi being Soichi.

Just watched Episode 6 and the first half was alright (considering I've already read this), but the second half which involves death of a loved one and the sense of letting go.......... man, that was heartbreaking.

I love this anime every thing about it is unnerving from its art story and how the main people act. Fear is not just a jump scare its knowing something is not safe or not normal and there is nothing you can do to stop it.

First half, that women was just looking for a boytoy. That second half, while not the biggest twist ever, it was still an enjoyable segment. Might be my favorite tale from this anime.

It went from creepy to Clannad in the blink of eye.

On the face of it, the second story was just sad but gentle. But thinking about it more I have some disturbing thoughts. The after-images don't seem to realize they're dead, so what is it like for them when they start to fade away? Is it frightening for them or do they not really notice? Maybe it's even a relief? Also what is the effect on the family of being constantly surrounded by the dead? That can't be healthy. Maybe it's a factor in why there don't seem to be many children in this family.

I'm also wondering about Riko's dad. Does he know that his daughter had an unexpected encounter with Truck-kun? If so, did he know about and/or consent to her after-image being made? Or has he actually been dead the whole time, and what Riko greeted at the end was some kind of after-image created by her own sense of loss? So many questions! But that's one of the things I like about Junji Ito... very little is explained and we're left to draw our own conclusions.

I liked this episode. I was wanting more from the first one though. The second one, I totally thought the guy was the one who was dead at first. Close, but no cigar.

For the first part, it was driving me nuts trying to figure out the VA for the window lady. Finally realized it was Orochimaru. Great voice for this.

"You're just a child, so stop yapping and take your clothes off!" -maybe the most disturbing line I've ever heard in an anime.

The newest one had a very silent hill vibe to it with the random walls blocking the path. I just love how every thing is off just enofe to tell you something is wrong in a normal life setting but not so blunt to know what will happen next.

Caught up after missing a few weeks. I have to say that the last few episodes have been better than the first handful. Episode 6 was actually pretty solid all around. Episode 7 and 8 had some decent moments but still really fall apart in the details and in the incessant need to add dialogue and explain everything. The art and animation quality is also just really inconsistent throughout. It's not really on my "about to drop it" list anymore as I'll likely stick around to the end but it is still just fairly disappointing. For every good segment or idea there's a bad one or just poor execution.

Jeez, I've heard of a five-head, but this is ridiculous.

They really are not doing justice to these wonderful stories. The animation quality is horrible and riddled with sloppy bits, like when they go to drag away the trapeze dudes they actually show the red clown being dragged away again. And for the first one I think they should've stuck with the manga version where
. Here it just looks like she didn't have sense enough to run away.
