Was not expecting to watch this, but I am glad I did. Pretty intense, with some real nice animation. Also liked the OP and ED, gonna have to listen to them more.

I love a show that surpasses expectations, let's hope it can keep it up.

Ooh, now that was pretty cool. Outside of March Comes in Like A Lion (which is just always great) and Citrus, this is easily right up there as best debut of the season so far. Really interesting stuff and a really cool concept here, executed very well so far. Time manipulation super powers but fueled or tracked by some sort of dark energy or something? Very into it. The OP was very cool in both audio and visuals but the ED was strange. The high cheesecake content felt so out of step with the content I had just watched.

Yeah in one of my discord groups we were talking about it and It's a combination of shows, all by Yasuomi Umetsu. Isuca, Gangsta, Dimension W, Kite, yeah... etc. I actually have not seen Wizard Barristers. I'll have to check that out.

Probably one of the best first episodes this season that i have seen so far, the OP and ED are fire, interesting premise and they eased into everything pretty nicely.

Definitely staying for the ride, also Juri is hot, I like her

in all honesty I so didn't expect to find a show that actually has a pretty decent original feel to it. not the violence, thugs, gangs and life in peril and trying to make the family mean something, but the whole aspect of going into the shadows. the scene captures of the insects along (loved the spider) was so outstandingly detailed, kudos to the artists on that one. I'm liking how this is going so I can't wait for another drop off. it was interesting how, instead of showing kids struggling to do better, they showed Japan on a darker note. those who are closet people, struggling to live and so forth. in cartoons over all this isn't seen as much as it should be. there are many classes in Japan, nothing wrong with showing them all, nor shame for that matter. I can already tell it's going to be a bloodline vs bloodline feud, but it appears to be an interesting feud brooding all the same.

Ep 1

Man, this show is very different from everything else airing this season. The OP and ED are excellent and the episode itself was really well done. I can appreciate the more mature tone and setting. The supernatural aspects are done in a way that feels refreshing and I find myself just as excited to learn more about the alluded family turmoil as I am to discover the nature of the stasis world. Plus the super creepy Herald thing at the end has me hyped for more. Juri seems like a great protagonist as well. Very solid premiere.

Pretty good first episode, I like the cliff hanger at the end, with the thugs who were somehow able to get into that alternate world. Something I though after finishing the episode, the creature at the end, perhaps thats what the grandpa meant by the people who use that world for evil, are "devoured" by it?

Episode 2

So that giant think is known as the Handler, and it kills those who violate the rules of the Stasis, and that guy who was about to kill Makoto pays the price for it. While Juri and the grandfather got away, the father gets captured. And then there's Majima, who is the leader of this group, and she's back in town after 17 years. It turns out somebody was onto them the whole time waiting for them to use that stone. Tsubasa is able to move, and get Makoto away, but now Juri is in a bind having gone to retrieve a stone and getting ambushed. The drama sure is something there, and while those men are up to no good, it seems that Majima has another motive in mind. It will be interesting to see what her deal is since she and Juri are featured in the ending having something in common.

Interesting of them to bring in the religion/cult concept. It does a nice job of giving the thugs an identity beyond just being "the bad guys." Really interested in seeing what happens next. Not sure I'm going to call this one of the best of the season yet but it definitely already has me invested storyline wise.

Episode 2

The creature that shows up is called a Handler (Herald) and is there to kill the guy holding Makoto because he broke the rules of stasis and kills him. Than grandpa and Juri get away leaving her father behind to get captured. Than a woman shows up who's name is Majima and has returned to the town after 17 years. Meanwhile Juri is tasked to get the stone from home while her grandfather will rescue her father, so that when they use the stone again he won't be left behind. Meanwhile Tsubasa is able to move due to the Handler and takes Makoto to get help. Grandpa follows a group that has his son hostage to their hideout and discovers that his family has been watched and waited for them to use the stone, so they can use theirs at the same time. He heads out to warn Juri but it's to late as she was ambushed and knocked unconscious.

This episode we discover the group of men is part of a cult that has a stone they worship but want the one Juri's family has. They seem to have a hidden agenda as they use the guild as a disguise to have followers. We also see a flashback about Majima and seems she might have meet Juri or her sister which is why she knows of the other stone? That cliffhanger was crazy and can't wait to see the next episode.

Damn, they are just teasing us with info. Definitely liking this show a lot.

Whilst not much happened in terms of the story, it has revealed so much info:
- The family were not randomly targeted, they appear to be the Master Stone holders, and Gramps has the knowledge they need to commit crimes.
- There is a book on the creatures in the form of religious scriptures
- The gang has been lying in wait to time their Stasis when the family does(?), though it's a story so I'll let the minute chances of that slide.
- Herald has some rules to prevent the Stalled from receiving harm
- Not everyone can teleport (thankfully), but you're welcome to try out a constipation attempt
- People who can move in Stasis have a "jellyfish" in them, like the Brother did. It seemed like a whimsical choice for him to receive it from the dead henchman.
- Juri might be the girl in Majima's flashback, and it looked like she forced Majima's jellyfish out, hence the 17 year wait, and Juri's prior episode comments about having some recollection of the jellys.

To get out of that cliffhanger, Juri has to go Super Saiyan, but I have some faith that the show will make it logical, rather than a deus ex machina. Curse the weekly waits.

Definitely. I feel like almost every character in this show will be important in some way.

Kinda suspected the family wasn't randomly targetted in the beginning. I don't think Juri will die but we'll have to see how she'll get out of this. Jiisan knew so much and I wonder what else he's hiding.

oh my gosh I'm blessed the ending scene for episode two didn't go into "that" direction. that could have been end game for me on watching it further. glad they just did "that" instead. I don't feel bad regarding the handlers, but it's interesting what happened to the otaku brother though, and I do feel bad for him, the sadness, sorrow... I hope they find the missing piece though, that can't be good. can't wait for the next episode.

I'm only thankful they have brought about at least a few dark cartoons, my goodness, all this fluff and slice of life (this season) otherwise is starting to be a buzz kill. give me gore, violence and destruction!

Damn the brother must be wondering what the fuck is going on. At least his nephew is his first priority.
