I thought I was pretty tolerant of anime art failing but this is just at a different level that passed even my permissive limit. What got to me was there were stretches of dialog where the faces were totally inappropriate.

Regardless of who is to blame is there any point in watching any more?

LOL

Good Lord! I've been loving this show since episode 1, but jeez, this was truly incredible. I don't think I've laughed so hard in my life than at those first few minutes. This episode ironically made my day.

I feel bad since it seems to mar what has otherwise been a good show in my eyes, but the unintentional comedy of the animation was so strong that I almost have to give it credit.

On the one hand, it sucks for both the show and the staff. On the other hand, I've been feeling kind of "bleh" recently and this episode gave me the heartiest laugh I've had in a while! God, my sides hurt!

I'm going to optimistic and point out that this show has had episodes with bad animation before (though this was a whole new level) only to get better in later episodes. The episode where they fought Russia was pretty good animation wise and it had a few lesser quality episodes before it. Maybe this will be the low point? Sadly this episode's animation was bad enough to take me out of the viewing experience many times. It was like watching a drama film that suddenly has bad CG for a car crash or something. Sometimes bad enough to get a chuckle. I'm assuming the delay for quality was more of a delay for behind the scenes conflicts. That or a delay so the director could finish animating this episode (this isn't a joke, that shot where she looks like a frog could not have come from an animator).

HOLY SHIT the animation in this episode. Oh man, production must be in hell or something. These dorks don't deserve this.

That moment was absolute gold! I'm glad I'm not the only one who recognised it as worthy enough to screenshot.

For real, this episode has been the most enjoyable of the series, and for all the wrong reasons. The animation was some of the worst I've seen, and it had me in tears. I kind of feel bad, but man... I kind of want to come back next week to see what shoddy animation awaits us.

Thanks for posting this here. Interesting stuff.

It's a little funny to think back to Shirobako and just how over the top it seemed, but it really shone a light on some of the issues the industry has to deal with.. and, of course, the real story is in some cases even worse.

Marchen Madchen (Fairy Girls) EP 9 "Companions on a Journey, and Whimsical Traps"

I liked this anime / I thought it was nice it got an anime after the autors untimely death . It was in the works but the death postphoned it

The story is nothing new / I thought the books origin were cool as they are real boojs And the girls drawn were gorgeous Well that's out the wnidow as the animation is a mees but if you read the blog it goes beyond that

Shirobarko was accurrate in what could go wrong W/O god prpduction asiistants who pull the pieces together the anime could be a failure as this seems to be happenning here

You cant just call a studio / sub contractor nowadays as they are booked and shorthanded well into 2009

Waiting the couple of weeks for the reboot of this EP didnt seen to help the animation at all It was OK until the 2nd half . At first it was the training scenes then later all the Character's at the estate after Shizuka left were frankly drawn badly but back at the school thet seened normal IDK if those pieces were done ahead of time or the segment was late or changed but that was bad animation / the story line wasnt bad !

I am hoping things improve it a shame because like I said it was interesrting with life lessons / friendshis being formed

Use link for Sakura Blog

The American School wins against the Chinese School

The J school goes to train at Shizuka 's estate to be allone since their school is the host but the headmaster lets Qazan her teamates go too Them the 2 close Russian comrades go too Hazuki wants to blend in on the trip as she always failed in the past she amaost gives uo bet her sandwiches were a hit

When they get to Shizuka place the clan is happy they won and a huge banquey is prepared That was one of the reasons Qazan / friends wanted to come the estate and of course food

Hazuki has to train using the castle instead of her stange spell BTW the training camp was for her

Lynne is accused of cheating

Shizuka is called back to the Committee to hand over her Orgin to clear her mothers under fakse accusations but she does and cant compete is the 2nd fight but a new girl Sachi Hino comes back from the hospital to join Hazuki's team

Na I had planned to binge/catch up on this series in a few days... this makes me really sad as I adored the character designs and concept artwork. Such a shame that the author's legacy has to be tarnished by all this madness. I hope it all gets straightened out at least for a blu ray release and the people are credited and paid properly.

Just sad.

I absolutely loved this show for its writing, character designs, fun and dynamic characters and, occasionally, some of the action sequences and transformation sequences had really nice animation (like when they were fighting the Russians). It sucks that it was bogged down by such terrible mismanagement from the top. The worst thing is is that they are also making 3D Kanojo next season and they're probably going to ruin another person's work.

So are the final 2 episodes cancelled then? I was enjoying this show but something behind the scenes seems to have gone very wrong.

I just think it's another example of things being wrong in the anime industry. I truly believe there are too many shows being made. Too much shit being flung to the wall to see what sticks. Studios should take on less projects, focuss more not just on the quality of the shows, but the quality of life for the people that make the shows. Such a disgrace for the deceased author too. And from what I hear, either the director or producer was straying from the original work as well and that was upsetting some of the staff too. Not sure how much validity there is in that though.
