as the title says, do you have a hard time getting into a new series you havint seen before or didnt get the chance to but might have before and want to get into it and the best way for that is to start at the first episode right? yet for me it always feels like a drag cause i may or may not seen it before but no matter it starts slow and you want to start somewhere and keep watching as it unfolds but again its like a chore for me, what about you?

If I recently end a series I really enjoyed, I often feel this way. I usually end up watching 4-5 shows at a time because of this haha. I struggle to get into anything it seems. Most of the time, I get over this feeling by the 5th episode, but yeah I definitely know how you feel!!

not really, my problem is trying to find another one. aka what I'm in the mood for, either it being live action or animated. so, it's basically finish something up and start something new. I don't really retain it well, for me it's strict entertainment to pass the time. it's rare for anything to stick up there, so, that "feeling" when you've finished something great/bad doesn't happen to me. but trying to find something that does interest me, holds my attention span, is easy, however if the series doesn't pull me in, or film, I tend to drop it or just skip around in it until I've finished it.

Actually, as far as a tv show, it depends on what network it's on. Say a show is premiering on NBC I can sit down and get locked in. If it's on MTV I can lose attention in the first 5 minutes because I hate that channel. One more example maybe a new show is on Crunchyroll and I mean a simulcast, I can get locked in but I'm not afraid to drop it quickly if it doesn't hold up. Space Dandy kinda rubbed me the wrong way when I tried to get into anime back then, I ended up giving up on it and lost interest in anime. NOT ANYMORE!

It really depends on the type of show. I can get into a comedy pretty easy, especially if it's actually funny. While a drama is usually hard for me to get into unless it has something really special right up front.

Starting a new book, and/or series of books, after finishing one is way harder for me to get into than anything I watch.

I never have any problem getting into a new show. When I don't get into it, it simply means that I do not enjoy it. For example, I never was able to get into Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, not because I didn't like the plot or characters, but the pace was too slow for my tastes.

A good series has to have interesting characters, story, and pace. Dialogue is important only if it serves the plot or character development.
