I would like to hear about your favourite light novels!
I'm new to light novel world and would like something interesting to read. I've read konosuba and no game no life novels a little.

Overlord - Nothing I say could do justice to this amazing LN, I just recommend reading through the first volume.

Arifureta - Guy get's ridiculed etc, from classmates. Said classmates along with him are transported to a fantasy world where they all have awesome powers. Except him. He falls into an abyss and goes about getting stronger

Those are the 2 I eagerly await every release for but there's quite a few being released lately. J Novel Club and Yen Press always have something so check them out :)

Of what I have read, my favorites, in no particular order, would have to be:

*Monogatari: 3rd year high school student, Koyomi Araragi, finds himself not fully human anymore. He ends up involved with a number of other characters each afflicted by a certain "abberation". Be sure to look into the reading order for this series.

*From Commonplace to World's Strongest (Arifureta): As described in the previous post, Hajime Nagumo is bullied by his class, and left for dead at a certain point in the fantasy world. He proceeds to strengthen himself as he escapes the abyss.

*Spice & Wolf: Kraft Lawrence, traveling merchant, finds Holo, a wolf-deity, in the back of his cart. They journey together as Lawrence seeks to realize his dream of running his own shop.

*Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody: Ichiro Suzuki is transported to a fantasy world. After using a certain power, he finds himself rich and powerful, and heads out to sightsee in this new world.

*How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom: Kazuya Souma finds himself summoned to another world. After presenting a plan to help the country he finds himself in, he is crowned the new king. He gathers the talented people of the kingdom, and begins his plans to rebuild it.

As you can tell, I'm a sucker for Isekai stories.

You're pretty much reading the best there is already. I guess I'll mention some that others haven't already posted...

Durarara!!: I call it a "supernatural slice-of-life", as it describes the everyday lives of some very, VERY, strange people in the town of Ikebukuro in a super nonchalant fashion. There is no central narrative, so how much you like the characters themselves will be proportional to how much you like the LN.

Re:ZERO- Starting Life in Another World: It's a standard isekai story with a twist: When the MC dies, he goes back in time. So he must repeat the time loops until he gets the best possible route. The quality is inconsistent on this one, but when it's at it's best it's really something else!

The Rising of the Shield Hero: A standard isekai but with attitude. I feel as though this one best conveys one's first playthrough of a big budget JRPG, but that aspect hurts as often as it helps. As long as you play videogames for gameplay above all else, you should be able to put up with its kind of meh narrative (but hey, a meh narrative is at least better than other cases with the JRPG genre...).

Occultic;Nine: I'm currently reading this one now. It's a strange story by the original creator of the iconic Visual Novel and anime known as Steins;Gate, and that fact shows as soon as you read it! The anime gets a lot of hate, but since it was produced by A-1 Pictures, it was going to be bad regardless of the LN.

I just got up to date with both Arifureta and Infinite Dendrogram thanks to JNovel Club doing a full series catch-up on those titles this month -- both titles are excellent, however the one that shocked me was Dendrogram. I just didn't expect it to be as excellent as it was.

Otherwise, I tend to enjoy the more light-hearted comedy oriented stuff like How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom and In Another World With My Smartphone most.

Is it wrong to try and pick up girls in a dungeon? a.k.a DanMachi. It is a hero's journey type story. The MC has a destiny he isn't ready for and has a lot of growing to do. The plot is that the boy is rescued from certain death by a pretty girl. He falls in love with her instantly, but discovers that he can't even stand next to her until he reaches her level. So, he strives and strives to improve himself so that one day she will see him as a man. Along the way, he gathers up quite the harem, of which he is oblivious of course.

right now it has to be Infinite Dendrogram.

I love how its just a VRMMO game nothing more or less. but it feels way to real to be a game . I like how the MC will never give up has long has he has even 1 percent chance and look for a way to make that chance a reality, I am also really loving the villains to this series, also it is rare for me to like the Main girl has best girl and even like the MC hero, and i can not find anything to dislike about this novel usually there would be a supporting character or a villain i didn't like but this has just been amazing.

Danmatchi is an absolutely addicting LN. I ended up buying all of them up until book 10 in a row. Cost me more than I thought it would.

Hai to Gensou no Grimgar: Feels like an isekai (another world) LN but treats the world like the real world since the MC's have no memory of life before this world and only have fragmented memories of past relationships. The characters are also really well developed and get into high stakes situations.

No Game No Life
