no need to be rude or anything, why not just turn the volume up. I haven't noticed a problem, but, it could be linked to how they get it and not CR themselves. or it could be based upon the quality in which you're watching it, such as lower quality poorer volume issues. however I did pull up a random link which might help while someone comes around to assist further https://www.cnet.com/forums/discussions/video-streaming-problems-who-s-to-blame-isp-or-computer-571019/

Some of the source material seems to be lower in volume indeed. Every so often when I binge a catalog title I'll bump up the volume, then lower it again when going on to a show that's louder.
Which is precisely why there's volume controls. No need to be rude about that, the volume levels of episodes within a show seem pretty consistent so it's an adjustment you only need to make on a show by show basis.

The only actual issue with audio volume on CR I had was years ago before I got premium when one of the ads would be significantly louder than the others and the video.

I know exactly what you are talking about. I believe it has something to do with the way the video is encoded or otherwise processed for Crunchyroll. If you can, try watching the same show on Crunchyroll and then watch it on Amazon Video, the Amazon Video one will have louder and crisper sound.

Crunchyroll needs to do something about this.

Umm I'm having the same problem on HDMI output. Volume is too low, only in CR. Netflix is normal... I guess it is about some kind of dolby audio decoding mix... Like giving audio to rear speakers only...

Audio on CR would be stereo only. (TV anime in Japan is produced with only a stereo mix).

There's a separate volume control in the player in addition to your PC's volume. I find that sometimes sinks back down to the middle apparently on its own like once a month.

Make sure the bottom right volume control is cranked up before you adjust your computer's sound.

But some TV shows are just different with their brightness, default volume levels, etc.

Computer Volume all the way up. Video player volume all the way up. Headphone volume all the way up. Loudness equalization turned on in volume settings. One Piece still sounds like watching a nighttime TV show on low volume because we don't want to upset the neighbors.

This just isn't satisfying to listen to. It needs to be louder by default so that we don't have to blast all of our settings up to the max just for a mediocre volume level.

There might be some other factors here, I don't experience CR volume being terribly different from other streaming sites.

It looks to be an issue with Flash, which is overall bitchy with CR. I wonder if this is part of what they intended to fix with the latest updates? If so, it didn't work... Please fix, I need my shows. Can't watch them on the tele.

Ok so it is not just me. I was thinking I was having an issue with my Sound Card or something and fiddling with all kinds of settings.

As others have mentioned, just recently the volume is very, very low on all videos and while I can turn up the volume the audio quality just isn't the same as it was. The other issue is I have to nearly turn my volume up to 100 max for the sound to be even decent however if I forget to turn down the volume and jump to Youtube, Netflix or something, I get blasted by the 100% volume which is just a recipe for a blown speaker. This is something that really needs to get fixed. I need the volume to be consistent and of good quality across my uses. Hopefully this gets fixed soon or I might have to get my anime elsewhere.
