One more person having the same issue. I watch an episode and during the credits of the second episode the app crashes. Sure, it only takes 6 seconds to load the app up again and click on the video in "my queue," but it is still annoying.

Also the event viewer shows the same error as everyone else.

Same crashes as all of you guys. Especially when autoplaying the next episode. Sometimes it even crashes when I click an episode just after the app launched. I prefer the app over the browser because of flash, but this is really unstable.

Same issue here.. it's been like this for a while now. The next episode starts and plays for a few seconds before the app freezes and crashes.

I'm also having this issue, the app just chokes 2 seconds into the next video and then *poof*, my friend even asked me if I'm sure I had it running in the first place :D

Is it a buffer issue? cache? I thought at first it was an encoding issue, but if that was the case then the app would be crashing every few minutes, so the fault clearly lies within the way the video is being played by the app when we click "Next" or it autoplays.

UPDATE 1:

Okay, the problem seems worse then I thought. The UI controls stop responding from time to time, specifically the "Mute" and the 'Fullscreen/Minimize' buttons. If I pause the video a few times per episode, the 'Fullscreen/Minimize' button stops working completely, and whats worse is that the default windows controls are totally hidden by this point, so can't even close it the proper manual way.

UPDATE 2:

Taking into account the UI problems as well as the fact that it only crashes when the video goes from one episode to the next (whether its manually or automatically via autoplay), I came to the conclusion that this crash could be happening from the age-old Crunchyroll App problem where when you go from one episode to the next, the App automatically exits full-screen mode (has always happened since I started using this App back in 2015).

Wasn't exactly right but noticed that sometimes it stopped crashing... until I did something else like moving the seek bar or pressing next again, then the App froze once again, crashing after 2/3 seconds.

Safe to assume that maybe the shell they are using for their application (.NET for C# apps, Electron/NW.js for JS apps, etc) was updated in one of the latest updates for the app, but probably wasn't tested correctly before being pushed to the users.

Anyone know a way to check the source for Store Apps? I tried accessing "C\Program Files\WindowsApps" but windows refuses to let me check that directory.

I have the same issue where the next episode button crashes the app after attempting the load the next episode. Going back out to the cue and clicking in the next one seems to work fine.

Same issue for me as well. Has Crunchyroll even acknowledged this issue yet?

God I wish Funimation didn't assault my ears with eng dub. Their app and HTML5 player work so much better.

Windows will get sassy with checking app directories. Used to work for Netflix and it was a bane to check the actual files. Likely the API has a malcontent piece of code (a 0 where a 1 should be or rather a false where a true should be). Most APIs for streaming are written in JSON or at least contain JSON for its metadata. A value for beginning the stream of a next episode is incongruent so it's causing a syntax crash as it doesn't understand the line it's reading at the time of eval.

After looking at the code, though, it may be C++ where I have zero history so I'm not sure how much help I'd be. However, the behavior remains the same.

EDIT: I'm not sure if I'm talking out of my ass here but it looks like the value may be set to 9 which is an octal constant. So my theory may be correct.

So I started to use the app because I was having issues with episodes stuttering and not playing in browser, and now I have to deal with the app crashing when I move from episode to the next.

I'm close to just cancelling my subscription and going elswhere for my anime fix.

I'm still having issues with the CR app on Windows 10. I can confirm that it only happens after selecting the next episode, or using autoplay.
