Am I the only one that feels that Mei's father is to blame for literally everything wrong in her life? If he doesn't play at least some role in giving this story a happy ending, he's a total failure as a father and a human being in my opinion.

Gah, having to wait until April to find out what happens next is torture!

Yeah, I feel largely the same way. The whole system she was born into is the issue, but it really was her father who forced her into it because of his own need to escape from it. He got the freedom he wanted but, in doing so, pretty much doomed his own daughter to the same prison. Except for her it's worse because she, being a woman, she had even less power to get away than he did.

He never really did properly make amends, explain or even fully apologize so I really do hope we see him again. I think him playing a part in a happy ending is a good call.

I decided after Ep.19 to read the book instead of studying.
I was shattered by the last chapter and the need to study was gone out the window. Had me in my feels hahaha!!!

As chapter 36 drew to a close I left with the question : Whats next? Are we gonna see Yuzu rush in and save the day by getting past obstacles to get at Mei? Or the friends conspire to get them together? Maybe something totally different will happen. I really don't know. But I got a theory and it's pretty far fetched. What if Yuzu did...... nothing, absolutely nothing at all. I know I just heard some screeching sounds and outcrys of noway or she wouldn't but think about it. It was when they were a team that they overcame or Yuzu would rush in or Mei would step up. But now this problem stuck first at Yuzu with Mei's letter, that gentle dagger may have shut down Yuzu and turn her into a Mei clone. And Mei will see this change at school while trying to avoid her or keeping her distance, putting the responsibility on Mei to decide what she really wants. I know it's really far fetched theory and most likely not be that way but the thought did pop in my head at work.

I don't know if your guess is that improbable, especially with the apparent time skip. I still think it would be a good idea for Mei's dad to show back up and give Mei the push she needs. This may be a case where Yuzu is going to be the emotionally shut down one who has given up, and Mei might be the one to step up.

I was also thinking if she wasnt shut down, she should be really mad getting news that out of the blue when her mother, and at least 3 friends, and Mei knew ahead of time that this was going to happen and not a word was spoken sure Mei requested mom to be quiet but keep that from her own daughter? I would be angry enough to confront people. that just me though.

I was thinking something similar in that, what if Mei is now going to try and open Yuzu up and finally tell Yuzu how she really feels maybe? I think it's going to be hard for Mei to completely avoid Yuzu or her friends in school which will lead Mei to slowly start falling for Yuzu as Yuzu fell for Mei? I do think Mei's father and fiance will have some key roles in how the story progresses. I can't wait till chapter 37 comes out, this is such torture!
