Yes, thanks to the politics. Not much worse than an otherwise good movie being "serviced" over the ethnicity of actors. I particularly cringe when I see erroneous accolades of Black Panther being "the first" black superhero on the big screen. The past few decades haven't existed, I suppose.

It is a decent movie and worth a watch, but it wasn't worth the ticket price (cinema's are becoming extortionate) and it certainly isn't worth a 97% in any metric its a solid 7 or 70 but it seems most people presume getting below 90% rating = bad so maybe reviewers are compensating by just scoring everything higher or adding 9 in front of everything because reasons.

A solid 7 and worth a watch when it comes on general release or if you have non extortionate cinema's locally.

if you went in hoping for a action pact superhero movie with MCU cameos and references to the MCU cannon, but instead got this deep character driven movie about balancing power, whats best for your people versus whats best for the world, and finding your place, i can see why you would be upset. personally this movie blew me away, i loved every second of it, and it's in my top 5 favourite MCU movies [maybe even top 3] can't wait to own a copy. loved it.

In my opinion, yes. It was decent, but not the best MCU movie as I have seen several outlets say. I wouldn't even rate it in my top 10.

It almost didn't feel like an MCU movie. I thought it took itself too seriously, but Killmonger ended up feeling like a cartoony Bond villain.

I think critic probably liked it because it didn't feel like a Marvel Movie. I don't always agree with critics, but the audience scores at Metacritic and Rotten Tomatoes are lower than several other Marvel movies, although audience scores are often influenced by haters who never even saw the movie.

I can't believe how much money it's making compared to something like Thor Ragnarok which I and most of the people I know enjoyed much more.

My opinion of MCU movies best to worst

Captain America Civil War
Captain America The Winter Soldier
Thor Ragnarok
The Avengers
Guardians of the Galaxy
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
Ironman
Antman
Spiderman Homecoming
Ironman 3
Captain America The First Avenger
Black Panther
Dr. Strange
The Avengers Age of Ultron
Thor
Ironman 2
Hulk
Thor The Dark World

Yes, I can see how that would seem as such, as while I didn't mind it was a film with a predominantly black cast, I agree that it is a very reactionary film in spite of who plays the parts, and from a leftist pov it's kind of irritating at times what exactly the film trys to say about international african relations and nationalism versus globalism. I think there are a lot of things one can say depending on one's political views.

IMO Deadpool was only the second best of the Xmen movies, behind Days of Future Past

It's good but way overrated because, well everyone knows why.

Deadpool was a bad movie that will not age well. I mean sure you can pop it and fast forward through everything to watch the few pats where he's in in the suit and fighting for entertainment but the rest of is unfunny same old Ryan Reynolds shtick that everyone hated him for in Blade Trinity but since he's Deadpool it's suddenly hilarious.

Logan was easily the best X-Men movie and you can't count Deadpool as a Marvel Movie since it's a Marvel character in a Fox movie like all the X-Men movies are.

Also if you think Logan or Civil war are average you have limited viewing or some pretty poor taste (and I rarely insult anyones taste)

Civil War was my favorite MCU movie.

I still like Days of Future Past better than Logan though.

You're crazy.
DOFP is a easier sit through because it's not as heart crushing as Logan is.

It was a great film in my opinion, it is deserving of a high score yes, but I wouldn't say it was the best film Marvel have put out, the Captain America films are better I feel.
