It certainly wins points for being odd.

The love connections feel like they're going to get interesting with the alter egos.

Episode 3

Those two got into singing when they were quite young. One day, they took a nasty fall, and Mohiro found them. Saki and Sakuyo are back again, and Sakuyo makes mincemeat out of that monster with her fists while taking a man's body that looks like Maohiro. That was an interesting backstory there as those two sure are passionate about singing.

Episode 3

After having to wait three weeks we finally got a new episode. This episode was a flashback of how Sakuyo fell in love with Saki and it had to when they both got into that accident. They were both rescued by Mohiro who was out looking for them. It is this reason that Sakuyo was ok with Saki being with her brother but not anymore as she also wants her. After beating the tentacle monster their manger who happened to record everything tells them they should become a magical girl idols. This episode was less funny than the previous two but it was still fun to see how Sakuyo fell in love with Saki. She's not willing to lose her to her brother and will fight for her.

That was disappointing. We got even more overextended singing scenes, the flashback was way too long for how much it accomplished for the episode, and the humor didn't at all reach the level of the first two episodes. This episode felt lazy.

Holy crap, I just realized I ate Burger King with this again...

So apparently our spacey Subaru-doppelganger is also Snow White.

I'm also not sure why I noticed this, but Mahou Shoujo Manager's glowsticks in the OP were a different color this time. They were orange instead of blue. Random detail, or key to everything? It's definitely one of those.

And now that I say it, I really want Mahou Shoujo Manager to be a thing. Not like a manager of magical girls, but like an idol manager who becomes a magical girl herself.

I thought it was a bit early for a flashback, then they basically made the flashback last the whole episode. It lasted so long, I realized that the color palette of the show really bothers me on a fundamental level. So next week we get a new "quirky" character who is apparently a robot cyborg ninja track and field enthusiast.

I just watched the first episode last night, so I am late to the discussion. Got some One Punch Man vibes off of this show.

I thought her mother was a little too enthusiastic about her daughter going into a rather dangerous profession. Although, she did show some concern when she stepped out and said "please" to Kokoro-chan. I assume she meant, "please protect my daughter".

The flashback was moderately funny, but not quite up to the standard of even the scenes that followed it. Still decently funny when it gets lost in the weeds.

Episode 4

That was quite an awkward episode there. From the aliens cutting the power to the city to the one who calls himself Cyborg, the weirdness just keeps on coming.

I really want Magical Girl Ore to be good, but it's stopped taking itself seriously: it's just running through its gags like a shopping list, without leaning into any of them. And it isn't bothering to focus anywhere.

I was kind of disappointed the show made Saki a bad singer as a magical girl as well. There are so many contrasts for the show to explore; not everything has to be a joke. Pop Team Epic worked - well, "worked" - because it was supposed to be trash, so it could be as trashy as it wanted. So if the jokes fell flat, that was fine, because that fits right into the garbage aesthetic. But Magical Girl Ore can't be that cynical, because it believes in something: that the magical girl genre can be morphed into something hilarious. For that, the show needs to take pride in itself, not to wallow in cheap cynicism like Saki's poor singing.

I could see a beach episode working, though; women swarming Mohiro and Saki simultaneously would be all sorts of awkward.

Hm. Not sure How I feel about this show.. it has some funny moments but I feel the a bit too much filler in the eps..

Might have worked better as a 15 minute show.

Yep, it's slipping, which is really sad.

I had this and Space Battleship Tiramisu neck and neck at the start but Tiramisu is pulling further ahead each episode.
