*sigh*, and somehow my friend convinced me to pay for a CR subscription... But servers want to act up when I'm trying to watch a show 60% of the time....

I honestly see 0 benefit to me as a consumer paying for this... Honestly...if this is gonna be a habit... Just renewed too.. sigh.

Is a refund possible?

Are you watching via an app or via the website?

Okay, that's due to the Xbox then. The app has a bug that causes an issue that also affects other devices on the same network.
You shouldn't have any issues, if you use the phone alone.

If you want the content on the TV, you could, for example, cast from your phone to the TV via screen mirroring, if your TV supports that.

What, but how can my Xbox app affect affect the crunchy roll app on my phone.. if it's on the same network? Wouldn't that be a bug on CR end? I just can't see how or why the two "separate" devices but same app can be interwoven so deeply that one device can just timeout the rest of the devices on the network..

And even so, the standalone website worked fine when...on my PC..even though that's on the same network as well as I was leaving my house..

*Confused*

The issue is with the Xbox app, like Der Zoodirektor said. Basically, if you attempt to resume the Xbox app from standby, then the app crashes, but before crashing the app does something that triggers some security mechanism causing the crunchy roll app servers to temporarily ban your IP.

All apps - console, phone, or otherwise - connect to the same set of servers, hence why being banned from your Xbox bans you on all your other devices on the same network. I believe the website uses a different set of servers, which is why you can still watch via the website when you're blocked from watching through the apps.

There is a workaround to prevent this issue though. All you have to do is fully close the Crunchyroll app on your Xbox when you are done using it, or before launching it after you take your Xbox out of standby. You can fully close the app by highlighting it in the dashboard, hitting the menu button, and selecting the close option. If the close option is not there, then the app is already closed.

And why the F***k Crunchyroll just don't fix the app then? Coming from a fellow engineer this is just BS. But thanks for the only explanation that technically makes sense

Go on website, than look at queue see if the anime shows a white pic remove it, plus I'm not saying it will help you but it helped me or if you have way to much on the queue than try removing some cause it helped me before

Pinning to home did not help me with the Xbox app. Works fine on PS4, phone, and PC all running on same network. Xbox app would open then auto closes in seconds. Uninstalled and reinstalled still having same issues. App definitely needs an update.

Mine does the exact same. It literally just started two days ago and now won't stop, it's getting incredibly frustrating to the point where I want to stop paying for my sub.

Using xbox one app or the xbox 360 app as a controller to open crunchyroll, will allow controller use and prevent auto closing.
otherwise vrv doesn't have issues and you can use your crunchyroll profile there

I hate that I launch the app. It opens up and I start browsing and then.... boom boots me out and now I can not connect and I wont be able too for weeks at a time. I should just cancel this shit.
