Plot Summary

The new series is set in a near-future world where the boundary between human being and AI is vague. A rapid biological evolution, similar to "Cambrian Explosion," is caused by one incident. This incident turns into the genesis of a new jostle for supremacy, and the influence of the evolution goes beyond biological framework and spreads to various kinds of materials and technologies. The era of massive evolution involving diverse existences, such as human, machines, and biotechnologies, is coming. Characters fight an existential war in such a world.

It's going to be awhile before I get to watch this with it being a Netflix Original, and those don't come out until after the season. BTW, this show is called Last Hope in America.

I had a similar thought process but with a different Pandora (Pandora Hearts).

The first 13 episodes just went live on Netflix: https://www.netflix.com/title/80221272

The show is under the name Last Hope for some strange reason even though an English name already exists on the Japanese source material.

I just finished watching the first half of this show on Netflix, and while there's a lot wrong with this show, it does some things right. It goes to show that Shoji Kawanori has lost his touch as the story is just all over the place. It has a burning question at the beginning about what the heck Leon was trying to accomplish when the accident happened giving rise to the BRAI. And why the heck are there humans trying to eradicate humanity, that just fails to make sense. While the story is a mess, at the very least it does a solid job with the action and character development even if it doesn't feel relevant to the big picture making it passable as popcorn entertainment at the very least.

Anyway, the second half is coming to Netflix sometime in December, and while this show is has its problems, I do plan to watch this to the end largely because the dub is great, and especially with Cain's voice as he's done by the same guy who voices Jet of Cowboy Bebop fame, and I just can't get enough of him being a total badass.
