This isn't REDDIT, from my experience mods have been great and lax, dealing with spammers, helping edit post for accuracy, moving posts to their proper location subject. God knows I should of got in trouble for some past things but generally It's great in the forums.

I haven't created to many threads; announcement threads and just some questions on anime recommendations. The mods were nothing but helpful to me in their creation.

In the past I think their was a huge purge of posts but only because of a new format or when posting images had that stupid $ symbol for some reason. IDK. Something changed. But locking threads randomly, deleting posts, and pretty much banning you without a explanation is a sign.

I haven't really seen that since maybe 2014, and that was only an overwhelmed mod having had gotten too zealous with short-term bans and comment deleting. We had alot of flame-baiting and arguing going on in the forums, and the mod in question kind of flipped for a little while, before calming down again. The signs I saw were: clearly getting too involved in the arguing; publicly insulting and reprimanding those who he/she had banned and deleted the comments of (in the thread); disallowing criticism of the OP. Basically, the mod temporarily threw impartiality to the wind and couldn't function well as a moderator.

All of the mods I've interacted with on this site have been fantastic and lovely, and are generally more conservative about closing threads and banning users than I believe they should be.

I have to agree with this for the most part. Sorry that I can't personally contribute an instance of witnessed mod abuse.

But I do truly believe that they don't go far enough at times ~ and I personally think that is a legitimate issue. I'm not going to get all up in arms about it or anything, but as long as you're "polite" about it, it seems you're free to hold practically any stance you want, no matter how inherently vitriolic, degrading, derogatory, inflammatory, etc.

This is just my perspective, but I feel like if a mod intervenes, someone or some group almost certainly did something to warrant it. And more often than not, it seems like it could have been avoided by literally just rephrasing what was already said. Maybe I'm wrong though, but I'd love to see examples otherwise.

The closest thing to abuse of power on this forum was when a deleted my topic about whether the "closed" category should be differently organized, ie topics closed for a rules violation should not be in the same category as an old anime show thread that no one's posted to for the past few years. A mod closed my thread, saying "Closed threads are closed for a reason." That had nothing to do with topic, which I thought was following the rules. Other than that, mods here are surprisingly lax.

I was once booted from two Star Trek groups on FB (turns out they had the same moderators) for asking wasn't it logical to find T'Pol attractive. I violated no rules, was given no warnings, I wasn't a repeat offender (as far as i know, I never once received any kind of warning about my posts). A mod didn't like it and i was booted. That's the only instance where a mod abused their power against me

Well, stuff like this is a judgment call on the part of the mods. Usually, they are quite reasonable, but the biggest sign that they abuse their power is when they lock threads for no reason. Whenever they lock a thread, it is always proper etiquette to give their reasons. And when they do, if it is for a crazy or nonsensical reason, then that's another sign of abuse of power. At least it is easy to track abuse of power when threads are locked, but deleting posts is not exactly as easy to track. Mods should only delete posts that reek of spam, and at least edit out the inappropriate parts of a post.

The only political opinion I have is that Justin Trudeau is a fucking Moron, and Trump has been the best comedian in the past couple of years.

You.... You jut make yourself an easy target for some reason

I am not certain if my experience will be considered abuse of power, but the only memory that appears to my mind is when I created a forum topic under the forum games category with my former account, one of the moderators edited my description and removed some sentences, which was not in violation of the rules. I actually took a screenshot after I changed the description back to see if that will happen again, but as a result of fatigue currently I will not go look for that picture to provide proof.

I believe the edit was unnecessary and I have yet to learn who changed the information to this day, though I have my suspicious one of the moderators who was active in the forum games before my departure edited my information.

Yeah i agree on those opinions. Yeah iam too honest. Too honest for my own good. Plus sometimes i fall for the trap and retaliate and get myself banned or i get bored and try to troll/trigger someone or i post drunk, etc.
I guess sometimes i give up trying to have a normal conversation and just say something that i got care if it offends someone or gets me banned. I dont try and be a cunt for the sake of being a cunt, but a lot of people at this forum are cunts, as far as the typical left wing virtuous elitist iam more intelligent than you mind set and the iam going to gang up on you being the keyboard warrior that i am. lol
Others aren't cunts, they're just set in stone. Seemingly. I personally change with life experience but some people always remain the same i guess.
And of course the moderators are sometimes the same as leftists, no sense of humour, cant leave a thread open if it might offended someone. Unless its a bunch of people bitching about Trump lol.
