Honestly the vitriol about this particular feature being removed amazes me. The game didn't suddenly become pointless or even less fun to play. Perhaps you could take a step back from the censorship agenda and try enjoying the game for what it is in it's current state, which in my opinion is quite fun.

So let me ask you this. If the removed content isn't a big deal, then why was it removed? They put time, money, and effort into stripping the game of its content. Whereas it costs us nothing to drop the game and cancel our memberships.

Also you're defending a company LYING TO THEIR CUSTOMERS.

its because they are setting a precedent that they will censor anything they disagree with and not tell us and that this may spread or has already spread to anime subs.

Reminder that the High School DxD Hero simulcast this season will be censored on CR and will probably remain that way indefinitely, while it should become uncensored dubbed on Funimation once the BDs come out. CR currently has the first three seasons uncensored from Funi, because they came over for the first time in the BD uncensored state, but apparently CR can't be bothered to replace censored episodes they already have with uncensored versions when the BD comes out, even though Funi does that on their own service (as does HiDive) and you'd think Funi would be willing to send the uncensored season 4 over when they have it, considering they sent over seasons 1-3 uncensored. /forumtopic-1014891/spring-2018-simulcasts?pg=6#57398541

That said, Funi recently sent CR Prison School and Shimoneta censored, while they had already been available uncensored from Funimation for a while. Prison School is uncensored dub-only on Funi and censored subbed on CR; it's not legally streamable subbed uncensored anywhere. This is ironic considering the comment about "English audiences."

If you want to talk potential western media scandal, IMO the most at risk is not even stuff like the CR co-produced /my-wife-is-the-student-council-president - it's lolicon stuff like /angels-3piece.

Not even lolicon media is that big a deal. Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya can be purchased at your local Wal-Mart. It's got an official TV rating and everything.

Then there's the aforementioned Danganronpa. In Ultra Despair Girls, there's a segment where you play as a former serial killer who forcibly strips a child in order to save her highschool-age friend from a groping bondage machine (said machine was also a minigame that you can choose to fail). Rated M and sold at Game Stop without issue.

The removed feature "communication mode" was advertised in the English trailers for the game, it's very deceptive to advetise something to customers just to later remove it. If censorship and false advertisement is the direction Crunchyroll games will follow then don't expect me to support any of your game releases, i am removing memoria freeze and staying away from of your future deceptive game releases.

Even the censored versions of the Nekopara series still has the poke & pat feature . You even get an achievement ! But , them never going after the uncensored versions of series for the premium - paying - members always ticks me off .

I first saw the news on Sankaku days ago, and today on Censored Gaming channel. Plus comments here are still increasing.
Are Crunchyroll blind or are they just ignoring us?

Personally, I've always found this sort of gameplay feature unappealing, so in a way it doesn't bother me. I also realize that the different laws or guidelines in various regions of the world, have an effect upon a company's decisions due to age restrictions of content. Each culture has their own levels of what they feel is "acceptable", right or wrong and so forth. It can't be easy for people porting over these products to handle that. Having said that...

I am sick and tired of the increasingly stringent censoring of words, thought, political views, and various other content. The excuse is always that it is only a little thing to accept or "It's just a game." Unnecessary, tiny steps like this lead to a cumulatively larger effect. When will the Puritanical crusade to censor everything that might hurt someone's feelings end? To communicate with another is to risk offense. How can anyone ever know just what will offend another? Difficult as it may be (and boy, do I know), it is far easier to handle your own offense to what people say, than prevent the offense of an entire world.

"You know, there are some words I've known since I was a schoolboy. "With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably." Those words were uttered by Judge Aaron Satie, as wisdom and warning. The first time any man's freedom is trodden on, we're all damaged." - Captain Jean Luc Picard

CR probably didn't request the video for Prison School, as they had simulcast it in some countries outside of the US. As has been the case with other titles brought over by Funimation that fit that criteria, they just expanded the regions the existing video was available to. That wasn't the case with Shimoneta, however.

Your point about the uncensored subtitled versions disappearing from online availability still remains valid. This was a concern I raised very early in the days of the Funimation/CR partnership, and while it wasn't as bad as I feared it might be, it hasn't been without casualties.

As UniversCenter said, it's been several days now, and we still don't have any official statement from Crunchyroll aside from that insulting PR spokesperson on Reddit. The longer you ignore us, the worse it makes you look.

And I as I've said multiple times already, there are FAR worse games on the market than this one. I don't believe ANY of the regions Crunchy was planning to release this game in would have had a problem with the touching feature.

No, it's still there. Make sure you're looking at Site News, and not Latest News.

I see still it's a good demonstration of the affects of censorship normally i would not think twice if i can't find a thread but because of this people will jump to the worst conclusion as there is no trust.
