Greetings,

I'm currently looking around for a replacement for my aging iPad and am strongly leaning towards getting an Android device this time.
However, from my research it seems a lot of Android devices do not support HD streaming on Netflix and other such streaming services due to some DRM shenanigans. What about Crunchyroll? Does the CR Android app support 720p and beyond, or is it limited to 360p?

Thanks.

It uses adaptive streaming, so it depends on your available bandwidth and whatever it determines you can be served with. It doesn't display anywhere the delivery you are actually getting.

There are optional settings for "low" and "high" which can theoretically override the default "auto" one (low is there to allow bandwidth conservation). I know that "low" looks pretty bad; presumably it is 360p, because I remember in the distant past the limit used to be 480, but that was better than the current "low" display.

I don't notice any difference between "high" and "auto". It's at least 720, could be 1080, but on my tablet screen (8.9"), I don't think I can tell the difference.
