Fuu Houhou from The Outsider. So sweet, so innocent, so naive, so... Ready to murder and bury people alive on a whim.

Seriously near enough people watch the show to do it justice sadly.

A Shep topic without mecha, huh?

*sees the Fllay GIF again*

My loathing of that one is already well known here, I think. If you want underrated from Seed and Seed Destiny, I think Meyrin would be a better choice, if you ask me.

*raises hand*

I have the whole manga from back in the day (plus the OAVs), but Ai is kind of a legend, not underrated at all, IMO.

Now, Video Girl Len? She could use a little more credit.

There are a lot of good answers for this, however I'll go with the first that came to mind: Iwasawa Masami from Angel Beats! Unfortunately her time in the show was short, but her impact was (imo) quite big. She was the first character we really developed any connection with as she explained her tragic life story. Otonashi (and the audience) began to realize the sort of lives the people in this afterlife had. Also, she was the first in the main group to fulfill her dreams, accept her life and "pass on". This was a pivotal moment as it caused Otonashi and some of the others to begin to rethink what it meant to pass on from this world. I believe her character really set the tone for the rest of the show.

Anyway, all that is me trying to rationalize why I think she is an awesome character who doesn't always get a lot of mention/notice.

Of course. Watched that back in college with our anime club. That was cool. The whole room was crying during certain scenes. The ending was...interesting.

Maki in Sakura Quest.

I related to her. Maybe it's because I've got a connection to theatre myself, or I've had trouble throughout my life knowing exactly what I wanted to do or where I wanted to go, or whether to make the choice between a creative career vs. a stable one. She's also smart, competent, but also flawed, and doesn't always do or say the right thing.

I dunno. I love her to pieces and I felt like I was in the minority on that.

The ED song, I'm guessing?

The ending was...interesting.

Yeah, like, "How did a cute sentimental rom-com suddenly turn into Persona 4? "

Yeah, that ED was beautiful.

I'll have to take your word on comparing Ai to Persona 4 (haven't seen or played it), but it definitely took a turn for the weird and dramatic. Still loved it, though.

I bought the DVD when it came out in 2001?(and knew about it before then).

Uraraka from MH3 or the Frog girl lol.

Ehh, you could make an argument for Uraraka, but Froppy is pretty hella overrated IMO. People circlejerk her so hard lol.

100% agree. To each their own, and all that, but considering so many consider her best girl, and she was a nominee for best girl in CR's awards despite really not doing a whole lot, especially compared to many other characters from other shows... Yeah man, she's the complete opposite of underrated.

But to be a hypocrite and go with a personal favourite anyway, Mina Ashido from MHA is criminally underrated.

I didn't care for Kurenai, but I liked these girls, who I dubbed 'goth' and 'jock' because I can't remember their names
