Plot Summary

Straightforward and innocent Hisone Amakasu is a Self-Defense Force rookie stationed at the Air Self-Defense Force's Gifu Base. She was struggling with the fact that she sometimes hurts people unintentionally by her innocent words and decided to join the Air Self-Defense Force, hoping to maintain a certain distance from people. This decision led her to a fateful encounter which profoundly changed her life. It was the "OTF" dragon hidden in the base and it chose Hisone as his pilot. When it soared into the sky with Hisone, her fate as a dragon pilot was decided. It is said that dragons have a key to the future of the world...

From the look of things, it's going to be on Netflix. The website said it was going to be exclusive to Netflix in Japan, but it didn't say anything about the rest of the world. Usually, when a show is exclusive to Netflix in Japan, it's the same case around the world, but that was not the case for Doreiku meaning that it's not a for-sure thing anymore. Given the lack of announcements, it looks like Netflix has it. Netflix has a deal with Bones so that moving forward, they are on the production committee for all new shows (which excludes sequels).

The deal with Bones, Wit Studio, and Production I.G. does not put Netlfix on the production committee for all new shows (why is everyone saying this), one example is that the Vinland Saga anime which was announced after this deal was announced will be exclusively streaming on Amazon Prime.

Episode 1:

Dang, this was pretty interesting.

I'm especially interested in the world this anime takes place in after seeing the presence of dragons. The military themes is also interesting to look at with a lot of the character outfits. I'm interested in knowing more about the main characters too especially Hisone.

Also kinda liked the comedic segments through in for the episode. Pretty much a set up episode but I sense a lot of potential in this.

Wonder how many episodes this will get?

So Netflix actually has a page up for viewing in the US https://www.netflix.com/title/80241960 iirc it usually appears as an error if the show isn’t gonna be available in the region yet but it list all the staff and info here. I’m not 100% sure if this is the usually case for all animes regards if they are gonna be viewable in other regions besides Japan or not so if someone can let me know that’d be great.

That was very intriguing. I actually had no intention of watching it, but it popped up when I was browsing NETFLIX.

Already better than Mob Psycho afaiac.

Will get at minimum the 3 episode treatment, but probably more than that at this rate. It was good.

It was interesting, and I will certainly keep watching to find out where they go with this premise. The characters themselves weren't really any great improvement on the usual run-of the-mill types, though it did feel like they had put some effort at least.

Episode 1

Man, this has Mari Okada written all over it!

I really like the concept of piloting a dragon from the inside. It's a bit vore since the dragon has to literally swallow you, but how that comes into play with air force technology is really interesting!

I'm not sure if Netflix is getting this or not; I've heard it might? At least Japan has it on their Netflix. If the U.S gets it then we'll be waiting for a while :/
