It will be airing on noitaminA, meaning it will be an Amazon exclusive! This is great news, I was slightly worried that Netflix would try to grab this, but now it will be getting a simulcast.

at least when Netflix gets it there's a guarantee of a dub. Amazon also frequently has trouble uploading on time, sometimes forgets to upload subs gives absolutely 0 promotion to any of their anime, etc. Along with that out of Amazon's year+ of exclusives only two (not counting the shows they got from Sentai that have slowly been making their way to HIDIVE) shows (Kabaneri and very recently Scum's Wish) have gotten home releases. Not even Aniplex stuff like Saekano S2 or Re:Creators have yet.

The only anime I have seen U.S. Netflix promote are Knights of Sidonia, Ajin, and Aggretsuko. They didn’t have a single tweet about Devilman: Crybaby.

I'm totally surprised that it's going onto the Noitamina block. Given that this is part of Shonen Jump that I was expecting this show to take Black Clover's spot when it ended, but instead of being in prime time, it's in this late night spot, meaning off to Amazon it goes.

Well, to be fair it's not quite time to release stuff on home video just yet, and before their big Spring 2017 haul, only Battery, The Great Passage, and Onihei are the other shows exclusive to them, which are not marketable titles at all. Let's give it some more time before we write them off on the home video front. And while Amazon has trouble uploading on time, at least it beats the alternative approach Netflix uses to put everything a season or two after the show ends.

I'm not surprised it is a late night time slot, but I am surprised it is airing on noitaminA. The Promised Neverland is much darker than most Shounen Jump manga, so it makes sense.

when I was subbed to Netflix during Violet Evergarden's airing I'd get an Email and a notification on site anytime a new anime series was added (I assume since I mostly watched anime). I subbed to Amazon for a year, only watched anime and not one of their Emails promoting shows ever once mentioned a single anime series.

Both Funimation and Sentai have announced Summer 2017 titles already (keep in mind, Funimation announced their August slate and Sentai September so while it hasn't quite been a year yet doesn't mean it's too early) which adds on Baha Vigrin Soul, Re: Creators, Saekano, Altair, Dive, Lights of the Clione and Welcome to the Ballroom.

Funimation didn't release Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress on Blu-Ray until January 2018, and it aired from April-June 2016. So there might be a slightly longer wait.

Funimation didn't have Kabaneri until after CR got the rights to it, which was some time after Amazon streamed it exclusively.

I know, also Crunchyroll announced the license like a day after it finished airing. Not all of titles announced then have released, like Big Order. Although who would want to buy Big Order? http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-957985/crunchyroll-comes-to-blu-ray-and-dvd

Any voice actor guesses? I saw someone say Emma sounds like Sumire Morohoshi and I can hear it.

Edit: According to Japanese Twitter posts it seems everyone agrees on Emma being Sumire Morohoshi as well as Miriya Ise as Ray and Rie Kugimiya as Norman.

Character designs seem pretty on point. Shame it's an amazon show. It will definitely hinder it's international success.

Why do you think being on Amazon will hinder it's success?

Amazon as shown at multiple times they do not care for their anime shows. They never, EVER, advertise them. PNL will have only the strength of its word of mouth going for it. Then countless time Amazon failed to upload their episodes on their service. Missing subs, missing episodes...I had to deal with those many many times. Episodes and subs could be missing for weeks.

So basically, no marketing and a poor service. That's what the PNL will have to deal with. Will it still succeed maybe. But the show will most likely be very heavily pirated. Popularity via piracy is never good. That means no easily available merch, if a movie is made it won't be shown in cinema here. Would Amazon even get the eventual OVAs or movies? most likely not.

Finally it won't get a dub anytime soon.

PNL will start from far.
