Why do you think being on Amazon will hinder it's success?

Amazon as shown at multiple times they do not care for their anime shows. They never, EVER, advertise them. PNL will have only the strength of its word of mouth going for it. Then countless time Amazon failed to upload their episodes on their service. Missing subs, missing episodes...I had to deal with those many many times. Episodes and subs could be missing for weeks.

So basically, no marketing and a poor service. That's what the PNL will have to deal with. Will it still succeed maybe. But the show will most likely be very heavily pirated. Popularity via piracy is never good. That means no easily available merch, if a movie is made it won't be shown in cinema here. Would Amazon even get the eventual OVAs or movies? most likely not.

Finally it won't get a dub anytime soon.

PNL will start from far.
Speaking of merch and movies, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress proves that point wrong. Crunchyroll screened the recap movies in North America, and Crunchyroll and Hot Topic have Kabaneri merch on their website. I even went into my local Hot Topic and got a Kabaneri shirt, which was also an Amazon exclusive. Plus a dub could still get on Toonami. Wotakoi is also one of the most watched anime this season, and it is an Amazon exclusive.

I didn't say Amazon stopped movies and merch from getting here. I said a show popular via piracy was harmful for that. If Cr or FUNi decide to jump in good. But to my knowledge the recap movie isn't on Amazon, so whatever does this mean for movies. I suppose Cr or FUNi could get them. But Amazon, never.

FUNimation can't even stream the Kabaneri dub on their site. A toonami run seems just impossible.

Also just to clarify I never said Amazon would just stop a show from getting some level of success, but it sure doesn't help it. They start behind shows gotten by Crunchyroll or FUNi. Simply from marketing and being on an inferior service.

Why would a Toonami run be impossible? As far as I know the noitaminA deal with Amazon is only for internet streaming.

With how long their show take to dub, would it be viable for Toonami to get it? If they can of course

If it is a popular show then it would be. The My Hero Academia has been around for two years, and it only got on Toonami a few weeks ago.

We will see. Even MHA seem to have been really hard to get on Toonami.

Either way. Amazon is bad strickly because it's a mediocre service and it does nothing to push its own shows.

The only anime I have seen U.S. Netflix promote are Knights of Sidonia, Ajin, and Aggretsuko. They did have a single tweet about Devilman: Crybaby.

when I was subbed to Netflix during Violet Evergarden's airing I'd get an Email and a notification on site anytime a new anime series was added (I assume since I mostly watched anime). I subbed to Amazon for a year, only watched anime and not one of their Emails promoting shows ever once mentioned a single anime series.

Well, to be fair it's not quite time to release stuff on home video just yet, and before their big Spring 2017 haul, only Battery, The Great Passage, and Onihei are the other shows exclusive to them, which are not marketable titles at all. Let's give it some more time before we write them off on the home video front. And while Amazon has trouble uploading on time, at least it beats the alternative approach Netflix uses to put everything a season or two after the show ends.

Both Funimation and Sentai have announced Summer 2017 titles already (keep in mind, Funimation announced their August slate and Sentai September so while it hasn't quite been a year yet doesn't mean it's too early) which adds on Baha Vigrin Soul, Re: Creators, Saekano, Altair, Dive, Lights of the Clione and Welcome to the Ballroom.

That was a list of Amazon shows that aired up to Summer 2017 (that Amazon didn't get from Sentai or AoA) not a list of unlicensed shows. The user was saying it's too early for most Amazon shows but I was listing all the shows that Amazon has eligible based on what Sentai/Funimation have announced home releases for already.

Apparently there is a chance that it might not be going to Amazon. If it doesn't I don't know if the noitaminA deal is done entirely or if The Promised Neverland is an exception. https://twitter.com/YonkouProd/status/1054421457365684225
