I guess she realized the grave she dug wasn't wide enough to fit her... So, she went for double size by supporting an accusation that, honestly, doesn't even matter if it is true or not. I guess if you're going to dig your own grave, you might as well go all out.

Never watched the reboot, heck I don't watch actual tv anymore, but there definitely is a market for a family show that has a focus on more blue collar/lower middle/working class values. Don't get me wrong, I like plenty of other sitcoms, but when you see the characters in the shows with their McMansions and shoe closets the size of my bedroom its a little hard to relate with their "struggles' .

Quite the dumb move on her behalf. Her politics didn't exactly line up with the television network so she should have known one screw up like this and she'd be out the door. Hopefully the next one who is given a chance to fill the void made by the program's departure is a little bit more thoughtful with their words. Whether or not she said was intentionally racist I don't know, but anyone who is half with it would have at least known that at the bare minimum what she said would immediately be associated with that.

I kinda feel bad for the production crew and the rest of the cast. But then again that's what you get when you sign up with someone who does shit like this:

She's a jew and she did that photoop for a satirical jewish teen magazine back in like 2005.

On topic, she said nothing wrong, and it was on point. They were just looking for any opportunity to axe her show. Unfortunate but whatever.

Right...ABC just couldn't wait to pull the plug on their top-rated show, which it had just renewed. The things you people delude yourselves into believing...

Question: Was the tweet truly in reference to Valerie Jarrett's ethnicity, or actually in regard to politics and Jarrett's unique countenance? I'm wondering, because I've eyeballed dozens of Jarrett pictures and find that her looks are about as ambiguous as they can be. Also, there is something of a resemblance between her and Helena Carter's Ari character, and that's not exactly the norm for any ethnicity.

Most of the visitors to CR (forums especially) are probably too young to realize this, but Roseanne didn't say or do anything she hasn't done 1000 times before. Hell that was actually sort of a soft ball by her standards. She started her career by being an abrasive rude jerk that said funny things. That is literally her whole shtick, saying stuff like that is what got her the original show to begin with.

So the cancellation of this show over this seems disingenuous and slimy, because they knew who she was, and what she was about when they gave her show a reboot. Don't get me wrong, in reality they are probably angry with her, because she didn't wait until the ratings slipped before she publicly did something they had to "punish" her for.

That said, if they gave a crap about her politics or how she acts, she never would have gotten a reboot in the first place. She got the reboot though, so everything the network is saying about her behavior is pure dross. Personally I can't believe she wanted to, or agreed, to do it. She had to know her "style" was no longer "socially acceptable".

Edit: Sorry for reiterating some of your earlier points Runec as did not see your earlier post. But yes, she was always like this.

I don't think any of us have enough Ambien to answer that question.

Thus far Roseanne has said she thought VJ was Saudi. Then changed it and said she thought VJ was Persian and Jewish. Then changed it and said she thought VJ was white. Then argued she can't be racist because Muslim isn't a race. But VJ isn't Muslim either. Roseanne was basically pushing another of her fevered conspiracy theories and possibly got who she was specifically being a bigot against wrong.

VJ is African American on her father's side and 1/4th African American on her mother's if you want to be specific though. She was born in Iran to American parents working overseas. ( Hence the conspiracy theory she's some sort of Muslim infiltrator trying to overthrow America with Obama ). But only lived there till she was 5.

TL;DR Roseanne is a racist but she's bad at it.

Yeah, I'm your age so I remember the prehistoric era before Internet. But, you're completely correct about them knowing full well who she was. In the Twitter era she's made absolutely zero attempts to hide any of her views and opinions. The potential money to be made was more important than not putting her addled mind back on television.

Okay, that's actually pretty funny. Not much would surprise me. This is from the same woman who deliberately sang the national anthem horribly for attention.

i grew up watching Roseanne. with the exception of the last two seasons i really liked it and could relate to the family. still like the old episodes. didn't want to watch the remake, but i really want her to go away because she's toxic. think of how many people who worked hard on the series and wanted to be a part of it, and one person screwed everyone over.

'No ABC fucked everyone over, she did nothing wrong, compared to people who are also working for ABC, but it is ok to attack children, gay people, and Christians, As long as your a Democrats, face it ABC is heavily biased, and the reboot was only given to her because they try to show that their not against republicans after canning last man standing that was the 2nd highest rated show they had, even with them throwing it around trying to make them lose their numbers. SO they picked Roseanne thinking after this show is proven to be shit we can get rid of it and not look like anti republican dicks but to their dismay it was a hit, so their looking for any excuse to can it and you know that is the TRUTH.. '

This hole thing is bullshit, and you know it.

Also you are right about one thing this is an insult to the actor who played the ape comparing her to that Freak. By the way VJ is not black. She is Iranian/Persian. But then why is everything racist if its black person, but its ok if its a white or Asian person. ''Must be that Black Privilege."

you rally should seek help with that Ambien problem
