TV Model: KDL-55W800C [Latest Firmware: PKG5.381.0167PAA]
Crunchyroll App Version: 1.0.31

I've used my TV today to open the Crunchyroll app, but it kept showing an error:


"There was an unknown error. We have restarted the app for you. Sorry!"

The issue:
**Above error appears and prevents from being able to open the app entirely.
**This error consistently caused the app to restart every 10-15 seconds or so, even if 'OK' wasn't pressed. It never got past the screen in the above screenshot

Issue occurs when:
**Opening the app when previous signed in with Crunchyroll account
**Opening the app, then signing in with Crunchyroll account
(Opening the app as a free user/viewer is fine, but as soon as my account signs in the error starts coming up)

Troubleshooting attempted:
**Checked for latest TV firmware version [Latest version installed]
**Cleared app cache & data - Error persists.
**Uninstalled and re-installed app - Error persists.
**Restarted TV - Error persists.
**Deactivated the Android TV from Crunchyroll 'My Devices'. Attempting to re-register didn't bring up a code. - Error persists.

Comments:
Currently we don't have the app functioning, but can stream it to the TV through our phone, so it's likely that the TV app is faulty.

Any assistance would be great - The 'Help' form also failed to submit multiple times, giving an error 500 (which is unrelated - All our other internet browsing and connectivity is fine).

Same here but I have a Sony TV. It's an endless loop of the load screen then black screen then that error on, and on.

I was able to start the app in free mode after clearing the cache, but as soon as I logged in, it started with the unknown error loop.

So app crashes when you hit que and or try to watch episodes. It momentarily worked yo watch an episode after I loged out and logged back in I'm submitting a bug report to support hopefully they fix this cus I need my anime fix.

I'm having the exact same issue with a Sony TV also. Endless restart loop after logging in with the same error message. Already reinstalled the app a few times.

Same here. And before today, it had been asking me to relogin daily, while relogging in did not really help; I had to clean its data/cache before relogging in.

I'm also having this issue, though mine is a FireTV. Free mode works fine but once I log in, I get this error and it just looks.

I'm also having this issue on my Android TV. I've tried clearing app data, uninstalling and reinstalling, but every time I try logging in, it goes into the endless "We restarted the app for you" loop.

Any timeframe on when this will be fixed?

Just started getting this error tonight! I was using the app this morning with no issues. Now it is stuck in this loop. Tried uninstalling but as soon as I logged in went to this loop again. :(

EDIT: A day later I started the app again, it asked me to log out and log in again and it now seems to work fine.
