All I gotta say is that if you guys install a double paywall, then I"m done with you.

Wow. Hopefully nothing changes. Maybe we'll get access to a larger catalog of anime

The chances of double paywall is very low, only reason why Amazon did it was they are a e-retailer first, everything else second (granted it failed), but Crunchyroll is anime first and that's pretty much it.

At most, they might do what HIDIVE did in beta, for an extra $1 or $2 1080p streams, extra profiles, exclusives, etc.which isn't breaking the bank, hell everyone can find at least a few bucks, just laying around in the home.

I can deal with a dollar or two extra. I kind of expected it anyway with the NN repeal.

I just don't want no BS because of no NN.

I'd love to think they would fix problems which already exist instead of adding new ones.

If they buy Crunchy, will we finally get an HTML5 player? Will the site actually be upgraded? Will it stream 1080p properly without freezing? This might be OK if those things happen. I don't really trust AT&T as a company though. I miss Crunchy being independent.

and this, boys and girls, is net neutrality, the buying up and only a few companies owning something whereas giving many the chance to make money in the net world. since AT&T doesn't know the difference between their ones and twos I might not be getting premium on this site, but I'll remain a free user and get a guest pass from time to time.

I would be bold enough to make the claim that this doesn't have much to do with Net Neutrality.
AT&T has co-owned Otter Media (which Ellation is a subsidiary) since its creation.
This is simply a logical step to push out the Chernin Group that owns the other half of the Otter Group.
Crunchyroll is just a subsidiary of a subsidiary in the process of it all.

A company that I detest is purchasing a site I feel neutral to, how interesting to read. This should be a concern to all members, as who is certain of the changes that will be made once Crunchyroll is owned by AT&T, such as to membership prices or particular Anime being added or removed from the site for example.

I will have to wait and see if the purchase is finalised to know the fate of Crunchyroll.

Whenever more money gets thrown at CR's parent companies people always hold out a lot of hope that we'll get better service and site revamps.

Years later, we're still here looking at a site that's functionally identical to what it was when I first started lurking here in like 2011. So...yeah.....
