So many serious critics here...can tell you're all otaku's and def not life's of any party.

It's a solid first episode. Reminded me of Higurashi. Based on everyone's thoughts it was paced quickly. I wasn't sure if she might return to the other floors or what so it doesn't effect me since I'm ignorant of the game. Either way, looking forward to this anime. I haven't been this intrigued since REZero's opening episodes.

I'm enjoying this so far. Not a gamer, so I didn't even know it was adapted from a game and didn't notice the pacing issues others have mentioned. I'm not a huge horror fan either but this is interestingly creepy enough to catch my attention. I'm wondering though, will it make a difference that I'm not familiar with the source material, or will I be able to follow and enjoy this on its own?

Feels more edgy than scary. The eeriest part of the first episode was before Rachel met Scythe-kun. After that, it was mostly just curious given that Rachel is obviously not just a cute, innocent girl beyond her amnesia. And that Scythe-kun seemed to already know who Eye-fetish-san was, so supposedly the killers locked on each floor have some working knowledge of the rules and of each other.

I don't really see this working as a horror, the scares are absent and it feels pretty tepid for even schlock (so far at least). The mystery actually did pique my interest a little, so maybe I'll keep watching.

it shouldn't be required to play the game beforehand to enjoy the anime since it's basically covering the events of the game anyways. although quite a lot of people and i have been complaining about the pacing issues, it shouldn't be too hard for the staff to make up for that in the next few episodes if they slow it down by episode 2. so it's too early to see if it'll adapt the story well since it's literally only the first episode.

also, you shouldn't have to worry about the horror aspect! it's more of a life-or-death thriller mystery story about a strange friendship with some horror. (mostly because the floor masters are all pretty over-the-top like zack and danny) so you should be okay as long as you don't mind seeing some messed up backgrounds! 0:

of all the releases this one seems to be the only one of interest at the moment. it's dark, gory and has the things I'm interested in. I can't wait to see what other sort of chaos and confusion Rachel get's herself into. I rather like the details of the characters, and, even though some are just spot appearances, they did bother to give a tiny background to them. makes one wonder how she got trapped there, what rules, and will she escape and will Zack deliver. and, I can clearly state it, thus far it's original. I have not seen this one done before and I've seen quite a lot of stuff, good to know some creators understand the need/desire for being remotely to even completely original.

Had no idea this was based on a game but when I first saw the trailer I was sold. With the first episode, I definitely enjoyed it and I’m looking forward to seeing the different floors.

Other than chuckles having a bit of an annoying laugh this wasn't half bad and left me curious.

as this anime is based on a video game with the same name and the game is pretty rushed in that aspect I can see that they are really going all out in the 100% true to the text style and I love it

I'm aware of the game (I've seen a Let's Play of it), though I haven't played it myself yet. I might pick it up soon. So far I think the anime's doing it justice. The pacing is different, as others have said, but I think the changes needed to be made to have a solid introductory episode, with a hook to keep people watching.

I recognized Okamoto as the reaper dude and Sakurai san as the doctor but then got axed and I thought , is that it for his character

Anyway this one is not for me. I need anime to relax me ,not make feel stressed

"Your grave is not here"

Of course Rachel isn't killed considering she's the main character. However, it seems she is interested in death regarding her own life. Zack and her are also getting slightly better with even a comedic moment between the two. I still don't really understand Zack's purpose in the show...almost nothing is known about him yet.

Seriously though, Zack is psychopath.

Episode 2

Rachel makes that request to Zack for him to kill her, but he pukes at it. However, she agrees to wait until they get out of that hellhole before that happens. Along the way, Rachel finds a grave prepared for her as well as for others, and Zack goes berserk destroying all of them. And then Rachel reads into his profile and understands how this serial killer operates, but it doesn't apply to her. Those two sure are forming an interesting relationship there, but even though Zack lives to kill, the circumstances just are not right for Rachel to be killed. Lots of mystery going on, and it will be interesting to see where things end up going.

Episode 2

The second episode resumes with Rachel asking the scythe person to kill her but he only cares about getting out of the floor they are in. So Rachel uses the doctors key to open the elevator door. The scythe person name is Zack and he agrees to kill Rachel only after they escaped the place they are in. We find out that besides Zack there are more people that got invited to the place they are in because they were promised to kill. However the more i watch this the more it feels like im watching a video game. Puzzles are being solved and clues are found like info on our two characters like Zack’s real name Issac Foster. When it comes to the second episode i found it a little boring compare to the first one, but i did find that flashback of Zack killing that woman funny how she tried to act like a fan in order to live. Other than that the episode was decent. Lets see how next weeks episode turns out?
